1. I used my old EB180-12 with my existing MAG210 and it was great. Never did experience issues with 'mismatched drivers' . Here's a pic of it i've dug out..
2. Fender will for a long time run off their reputation. I don't think there's many people who will pretend that Fender are 'up there' in the industry as far as quality and value for money is concerned. The fact that you see them being played by most bands on TV means they will always be the bass to desire for kids who want to learn.
3. Looks like they only want the margins to go one way..
4. It looks hot with that black perloid plate.. Jeannies did you say ? Must have a look for my 55-02. It has one on from the original owner but I always like a change of clothes !
5. Let me introduce... http://www.stringsdirect.co.uk/products/11...ring_super_long
6. My parents have that sofa in that colour ! .
7. Because they get paid to play them too ! Yamaha can afford it far more than some small custom luthier.
8. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fender-Jazz-Bass_W0Q...%3A1|240%3A1318 It looks so genuine !
9. What have you got now ?! EDIT: Ok found it.. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=33590 Didn't have you down as the headless type ! .
10. I played with both in PMT Birmingham a few weeks ago, preferred the BTB for looks and SR for feel .
11. I have just messaged gareth about this, unfortunately not for the first time.
12. If you don't think you can do it yourself then the best bet would be to get it down to Trevor at PMT Birmingham. He rewired my Dad's Hohner Precision for £15. Probably take cost more for yours if pots etc needed but give him a ring and see: 0121 359 5056.
13. You're from West Bromwich ?! Oh dear. I've just moved to Great Barr actually and did notice my IQ drop a bit . You shouldn't need any new pots or jack unless your current ones are shot. Just a case of soldering the wires in the same places as you unsolder them..
14. Nice one - I take it you're in a jazz fusion band ?! .
15. Used them a few years ago to order a set of 6 string D'Addario Prosteels, they sent a 5 set. Rang them to complain - they sent the 6 set out the same day with an SAE to return the 5. Didn't have to wait till i'd returned the 5 so thumbs up from me.
16. I like it - offering to buy a bass that he hasn't bought himself yet .
17. I had a BB614. The neck is about half way between a Jazz and a Precision. Soundwise the neck pickup does the business on the BB and can do a nice fat thump without any issue. For the money you can't really go wrong.
18. Personal preference for sure. I had a 2EQ and found it perfectly acceptable.
19. It is changing your avatar, however your old one is being remembered by your browser cache. Either clear you temporary internet files or press Ctrl+F5 on a page your avatar features on and you should be fine.
20. raze, how straight is the weave usually ? It looks a little wavy on the ABM case you have there.
21.
Berating Jake says more about those who need to keep on doing it than it does about Jake himself.
That sums it up for me. The subject has been more than flogged to death..
