1.
dumbass question here....how come it's a Squire P, but has Jazz pups?
To save the cost of making a 5 string split coil... which they've only just done on the US series.
2. And here it is new... for half that ! http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/options.php?id=3823
3. Count yourself lucky, I can't adjust the truss in mine .
4. yoink ! Am negotiating terms as we speak .
5. Can definitely hear that graphite neck.. I remember comparing my Stingray with a Flea. The Modulus was much more defined and punchy, but less organic, a little too hifi perhaps.
6. Looked up my serial and it's a year earlier than I thought ! The weather let me get out in the somewhat wild garden of mine to take some new pics...
7. I've got a a smidgeon of GAS for this SRX355, especially since it's £249, anyone got one ? But THIS I would hit, alas it's double the price.. probably got same pickups/EQ anyway.
8. Yeah i'd go for simply remembering the settings, they can't be that wildly different surely ?
9. 4ohm eh? How much you after ? I really shouldn't try and spend my redundancy money.. i'm sure i'll need it.
10. Best fretless I ever played was one of these..
11.
I think there are some very hopeful people in the marketing department at Fret King. Sorry, I just can't see this thing keeping up with the competitors out there.
That was the impression I got, who's going to take a risk on this when there's well other established basses out there cheaper ?
12.
I wouldn't normally clog up someone's sale thread with inane twitter
What about a non-sale thread ? .
13. I haven't got the email here, but JHS said the bridge was "a homage to the over engineered bridge of the EBO". (Possible misquoting here) It does look pretty similar...
14.
If you look at Ashdowns reputation it seems to dip around the time they started using pre assembled parts from china. Nothing wrong IMO with using China (and i know a lot of companies do) but there does seem to be a reason why the Klytrons are made over here.
What gets me is that the Klystrons are specwise, exactly the same as the ABMs. The only obvious difference is the case. I wouldn't be surprised if they used the same internal components. So what are you getting extra for the cash ? The prestige of saying it was UK made ?
15. For me it's a gig bag, if it's not going in your own car then a hardcase. Hardcases are best for the instrument, but suck for portability/storage.
16. Sure - then we can buy Kev's old neck right ?! .
17. Might try and go to the Milton Keynes one.. since my good buddy Kev Cooke is playing too .
18. We do 3 hours a week, but about 45 mins of that are setup and putting away, since the drummer brings his whole kit..
19. "Quotes take a significant time to generate. To compensate we charge $10 per quote." I don't see that one getting very far...
20. Their price point does seem quite high considering they aren't well established. And I agree, you can buy something far more impressive for that cash..
21. Nice collection there, got lots of areas covered. Do you find the 2x8 cab loud enough ?
