1. I had an NT Warlock for review... have a nosey (you can get 4 strings of them). http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=18712
2. This is close too.. http://www.rosetti.co.uk/products/bcrich/bass/widowwmd.html
3. So far i've only ever taken one.. but it isn't a big deal to take another gig bag really. It'll most likely be contrasting instruments to have different sounds available for different songs as well.
4. Hi there - welcome to the forum !
5. I shall ponder this one, have wanted a Miller Jazz since I started playing... argh.
6. Tonyf had one in his Sterling.. I would say they stuck up much less than my stock pickup does. You can always PM poptart and he might be able to let you know .
7. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?act=UserCP&CODE=ignore .
8. I read that the quiet G string is down to the preamp rather than pickup... don't expect me to back this up with a link though . EDIT: Oh go on then... http://www.ernieball.com/forums/music-man-...t-g-string.html Looks like rubbish then !
9. How strange ! Might be worth firing them an email to find out why ?
10. Sorry, are you talking about the latest issue of Bass Guitar Magazine or something else ? If so how did you get it free ?
11. Woods definitely do make a difference. This all mahogany Fret-King I have at the moment sounds very unique.. and is a passive P/J bass.
12. Old thread bump... but. I played a Jim Deacon P bass today for £99.. and it was really good. Cream with red tort pickguard, looked great. If I get the spare cash and this Hohner doesn't work out I might get one.
13. Pre-EB Stingrays are generally more sought after, and the 90's EB ones are generally better looking with the birdseye maple necks and old style muted bridges.. A new Stingray will set you back at least £1000, the prices in-store seem to have gone up recently too - so when you see one go for £600 on here it's an absolute steal, personally I wouldn't let mine go for less than £750.
14. The shape wasn't anything unusual - any standard shape should do.
15. Maybe a mate of his is pumping up the price ?
16. Depends on the bass really. If it's relatively new then you do expect it in good nick.. if it's a 20+ year old piece of gear then you can't expect it to have survived too well if it's had multiple owners. My Stingray is virtually mint and is 12 years old, the Jazz is 8 years old and not in as good a condition. The Hohner is 24 or so, and really looks it too.. bucklerash, grubby neck, rusty screws etc..
17. Faggits and pays for you Mr Fudge.
18. Yeah there's definitely 2 different basses there, you can tell from the grain on the headstock.
19. There is a 5 string VX1005DX http://www.jhs.co.uk/vintagebass.html I am currently reviewing a Fret-King Esprit which isn't a Vintage, but is designed by Trevor Wilkinson and distributed by JHS still. So basically yes - I should be able to get Vintage gear in.
20. You don't sound much like a brummie to me .
21. Looks like I was right then .
22.
Check out this baby... http://www.chunksystems.com/os.htm The ultimate envelope filter/synth? Should be in the UK at the end of August according to the manufacturer...
That looks... expensive.
23. Hmm, I thought there'd been a few up in the last few months ! Evidence
24. Speaking for tonyf here - but he's currently intending to keep the HD350 and use an ABM810 to colour the tone a bit.
