1. I'm just not willing to spend much on something that would not see much use. 95% of what I do will be nice clean bass. For the occasional cover I would like a little authenticity, I suppose the envelope is more important than the synth. Anyone tried the Ashdown one !?
2. I'm quite happy to spend time getting the right sound(s) out of it and memorising them for mid set knob twiddling (!). It'd be used fairly infrequently anyway.. maybe 1 or 2 songs in a set.
3.
a tiny touch of reverb you will like
Most of the rooms i've played in provide their own .
4. I know I wouldn't have that much in it... a tuner, synth, distortion... erm.. ok i've run out now. No interest in delay of any kind.. don't like octavers, chorus, phase/flangers. EQ i've got on my ABM.
5. I might start building a pedal board.. save messing about with this V-Amp which is a nightmare to use live. I can see the GAS coming already... sigh.
6. What's that, Digitech ? EDIT: Just looked it up, looks pretty good.. will have to try one out.
7. Yeah great idea... or I could just put it in a case ?!
8. Ok - firstly I know sod all about effects. Am looking for a decent sounding synth & filter, for a reasonable price (<£60). I've got a Behringer V-Amp which does both, but not that well. The synth tracking is quite frankly awful. I tried a Boss Synth pedal the other day which sounded pretty good, tracking was an issue but not as bad as the V-Amp. And the autowah removes that much fundamental it sounds like a guitar... have tried a DOD FX25B and have same problem. I'm aware I probably need 2 pedals, 1 for each function.. what's out there that isn't crap ?
9. Could you forward one to me ? Cheers.
10. So do you want a bass similar or totally different to what you have already ?
11. Well he knew enough to leave long before it went under .
12. My main reason for buying a bass is because I want it. I do take into account popularity / resale value if the need ever arose to sell it on. For example there are some brands I would try to avoid unless I was 100% sure I wouldn't sell it for a decent price. I'll admit though, I have bought gear on the cheap for the sole purpose of profit.

Hi

Hi Rich, what else can you tell us ? What gear do you have, you in a band ? Welcome to the forum .
14. Theses ones are: http://www.squierguitars.com/products/sear...rtno=0326702521
15. Yeah your fingers need to get used to the impact/abrasion, eventually they'll toughen up a bit, but until then just take it easy and stop when if hurts, let it heal and go for it again.
16. No problem, did you mention the DSA or just ask nicely ?
17. How eery, started reading this and Bohemian Rhapsody came on on the radio ! Good luck with the V1004DX, I really liked the one I reviewed.
18. Yeah they've had it a while.. the Sandberg CNC machine had a mine of it's own and produced about 10 of them. Rather than waste it... they made it a promo bass ! Plays well surprisingly but playing octaves are a pain . It was really quiet (in terms of people) when I was there, more like a Monday morning than Saturday afternoon ! Was it Big Dave you spoke to ? Looks a bit like this... with a goatee:
19. I'll give it a try with the paint.. where would be the best place to get it ? Will check out the earth solder joint too.. Of course it's fine if I roll off the tone control, or don't let go of the strings . Cheers chaps.
20. Generally any money you spend on upgrades mean nothing when it comes to selling. Some upgrades can even be considered as the opposite, thus lowering it's value from original condition.
21. What time ?! I was there about 1.30 for an hour or so... Played just about every bass in there .
22. A lot of people have had that bass Al .
23. Now I know if I sell mine (as if) that I won't have to wait around .
24. Personally i'd avoid the 1x15 cabs. I think the 10" variants are much better at what they do..
