1. I'll give it a try with the paint.. where would be the best place to get it ? Will check out the earth solder joint too.. Of course it's fine if I roll off the tone control, or don't let go of the strings . Cheers chaps.
2. Generally any money you spend on upgrades mean nothing when it comes to selling. Some upgrades can even be considered as the opposite, thus lowering it's value from original condition.
3. What time ?! I was there about 1.30 for an hour or so... Played just about every bass in there .
4. A lot of people have had that bass Al .
5. Now I know if I sell mine (as if) that I won't have to wait around .
6. Personally i'd avoid the 1x15 cabs. I think the 10" variants are much better at what they do..
7. Yeah they're doing a 5 string one with Spalted Maple body soon.. that I DO want. Spalted Maple:
8. Since installing the new pickups on my Jazz, there's a definite buzz/hiss and i'm not touching the strings (volume has to be quite high though). This happens on all pickup configs.. any ideas chaps ? I'm aware single coils are liable to it but I don't remember hearing it with the stock pickups.. Cheers !
9. Lol, I wondered if anyone would buy one of these in the first place .
10. Pah, you can't just say 'the bass', we need details.
11. You are - I have a Jazz i'm happy with, also I am skint .
12.
Just rang PMT Apparently expecting some in within the week , sales guy really raved about them ,great neck and real eye candy they sold out of there first batch pretty much straight away . If I cant pick up a used marcus miller , I think I'll have to plump for one of these probably the Sunburst me thinks !
Was it Dave Sheriff ?
13. A price will help .
14. Going to PMT in Brum tomorrow, will see if there's one around.
15. I think remember hearing this through doods Epifani Epifani UL-610 at the Bash.. that was pretty scary stuff.
16. I can recommend Nordstrands - have a look here: http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_sp...nd_Pickups.html
17. Yeah i'd be inclined to agree on the SR506.
18. There's definitely a bigger market on eBay and you will expose yourself (!) to many more people than there are on here.
19. If you get lessons you should be able to tell the tutor what you want to achieve, and what you aren't interested in. They should take note of this so you don't end up being bewildered and easily bored. Welcome to the forum !
20. I accept that knowing more theory would make me a more inventive player, I do tend to stick to the same simple things I know. Then again, i'm happy just being a weekend plodder and don't really need to know anymore than I do.
21. Alexclaber, if you had reacted that way in real life you likely would have received the aforementioned 'black-eye' from someone yourself (not me though, i'm a nice guy !).
22.
I wonder what barts sound like. I'll probably end up trying to get an original replacement, or something thats as similar to the original pickup as possible. Suggestions?

If you don't like the Bartolini then a Nordstrand MM5.2 would be what I'd go for.
http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_sp...nd_Pickups.html
23. I started off with guitar and then moved onto bass using a pick. Use one rarely now, but it does sound good when I do. As stated above, it's more of a different sound available to you if you can do both.
24. If you don't like the Bartolini then a Nordstrand MM5.2 would be what I'd go for.
