1.
so can the ridiculous idea of me being a con artist and a twat now be dropped, and let this bass sell
Well, I didn't go that far .
2. And now we've heard both sides of the argument we can draw some better conclusions. You can see on the eBay listing that there is no mention of 'custom' at all, nor are there any images of the decal. It appears thebuyer has made assumptions upon this and posted on here with these assumptions. So on these facts, the buyer did not buy it on the grounds that it was a custom shop bass, and thus no deceit has taken place in my eyes. Of course I cannot see any personal emails or eBay messages between the 2 of them .
3. Hmm, a good price would be £250, i'd say £300 is fair though. I wouldn't pay more personally.
4. Apparently the later OLPs (MM22/32) were great, but it was too late by this point. I think it was Sterling Ball who said this..
5. Looks home made to me.. what did you pay ?
6. I believe the confusion is caused by the custom shop decal. From the pics it does look fairly apparent it was added on post factory (see scuffing to area).
7. thebeat - you may wish to contact BassManKev on here to see what his side of the story is .
8.
it's missing a string, look at the bridge.
It seems humour is lost on some people nowadays .
9. I'm horrendously picky when it comes to bands. Any who have a whiff of self-appreciation or delusions of fame I steer clear of. I've learnt it's better to wait 6 months for a good one than have your time and patience destroyed by a bunch of no hopers.
10. Why can't you plug it in ?!
11. I am liaising with Rosetti at the moment and might be able to get one for review .
12. That's a 4 string .
13. Lol, I think about 4 people ever bought one so it has to be someone we know .
14. Raising the action on a Stingray is a bit like castrating it. It loses it's top end and all the balls that make it sound so good in the first place. A bit of string buzz is all part of the fun.
15. Mighty Mite are the only licensed Fender neck replacements I believe..
16. If you were to do so - you need a goal in mind. What about the BB404 do you dislike that you feel needs to change ? They are decent basses and well made like most Yamahas.
17. Try here: http://www.fender.com/support/diagrams/pdf...0136000BPg2.pdf
18. I'll get it from him in a week or 2 and take some proper pics - then you'll have a better idea .
19. Yeah they are. I haven't had it plugged in yet as my Dad decided to strip it down as soon as he got it.
20. Any special marks or dings you made ? I can check it out and see if it's yours .
21. Ok i'll get it uploaded - we've got a PC upstairs with a bluetooth dongle EDIT: Here we go..
22. My Dad picked up a Precision copy for £30 in a pawn shop. It's Lake Placid Blue with maple neck and fingerboard.. it needs a bit of work (new scratchplate and a cleanup) but other than that it isn't too bad. The neck is monstrous.. anyone know anything about them ? Google didn't tell me anything at all.. Got pics but only on my phone at the moment.
23. The East preamp is apparently designed to be a copy of the original 70's Musicman preamp... so I expect if the problem is in the design it may carry over to the East.
24. It's very easy to over analyse 'poor technique' when in reality what matters is what you hear.
25. Thinking about it it did feel like quite a stretch to the 1st fret..
