1. J for me, I like a little versatility.
2.
So did you just call them and offer to review it? :brow:
No, I emailed them .
3. A price and some pics will help stir some interest .
4. Yeah - I wouldn't remove anything from sale until I had the cash. I would put it on hold for someone I knew, but that's it really.
5. There are a few members on here who seem to actively seek peoples items to undermine. Their reason is beyond me, is it to ensure the community isn't ripped off ? I doubt it. Is it to try and get one over on someone and seem more knowledgeable ? I reckon.
6. With my new band I don't think i'll really be able to use it .
7. Yeah I would say i'm guilty of this. I couldn't see myself ever with a Peavey / Aria / Cort despite them being decent instruments. I've been very impressed by Yamahas in the past but they just seem to lack a little 'spirit'. I think ultimately if I could afford it - i'd stick with Musicman basses as they suit me very well.
8. Perhaps a 7 string MIDI fretless...
9. homer on a fretless ?! Whatever next ? .
10. It's to do with an active bass overloading the pedal and I assume causing distortion. A solution would be to keep your bass EQ flat or turn it's volume down. See here for a somewhat technical remedy: http://www.ashdownmusic.com/tech/pedals.asp EDIT: You have a J-Retro - hit the passive switch
11. Get with the times ! http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=18535
12. I don't think they got it wrong as such - just sent you the slightly newer (and same priced) Evo III. Only difference is the onboard compressor...
13. To me the Sterling is pretty much the same sound from the Stingray but a little more versatile. It has a much smaller body and thinner neck which some may prefer, but I would rather the chunkiness of the Ray.
14.
If it was me, I'd say that the bassline to Dream Theater's 'The Dance of Eternity' was a bit of a slag to play because of general all-over-the-place-ness.
Yeah a lot of DT stuff is very challenging, it's good to give it a go and see if you can keep up though. My favourite for that is probably Instrumedley.. lots to do there.
15. Great issue. Is it a coincidence that the weekend warriors are always Basschatters ? :brow:
16. Hooray for the RBX .
17. Never seen anyone with one. I think from a practical point of view they're a bit of a pain, a 115 and 210 cab would be the same power handling but easier to carry/transport. If that isn't a problem then go for it !
18. You shouldn't have been so slow to make your mind up ! http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=18535
19. I've got one for review at moment, should be putting it up this week. Nice bass - not really suited to me but it sounds good.
20. You would imagine or you would know ?
21. I know it.. I live 2 miles from it and drive down it every day .
22. Meh - I've got 3 at the moment and if I got another it'd likely be unnecessary. The Stingray/Jazz combo can do a hell of a lot and anything else i'd get would likely mimic one of their sounds but possibly be a 5/6 string (which I don't need). People who have dozens of basses I feel are simply hoarding and can't possibly use them all.
23. Interesting.. I shall make enquiries.
24. I think everyone is skint.. I know I am. If I had the cash i'd have off you in a flash.
