1. It always helps to mention the large bass community you're a part of too .
2. The topic of 2x8 Cabinet implies it is the cabinet. I've seen them in a couple of shops but not dared to ask to plug into one... maybe I will soon, am curious as to how such a small cab will perform.
3.
Actually the 2-band is bass boost only and treble cut/boost. When he was designing his MM replacement 2-band pre-amp John East wrote an excellent description of how the circuit works for the old Dudepit. Regretably that no longer exists. Perhaps we could persuade him to write it again. If I remember the bass is desined to be boost only BUT because of the way the circuit works it gives the impression of bass cut and boost.
I tend to agree with this after trying a few different Rays.
4. Ouch. That really does suck as a website... as soon as you click back it restarts the whole animation thing. Flash is so over used by people who think it's cool.
5. It's been Sound Control for about 5 years now - check them out here: http://www.soundcontrol.co.uk. They mainly stock: Fender / Warwick / Spector / Yamaha / Schecter / Musicman By the way - there is also PMT in Birmingham which in my opinion is a better place to shop: http://www.pmtonline.co.uk. They mainly stock: Fender / Musicman / Sandberg / Yamaha / Ibanez / Peavey.
6. If it's an old one it'll be 200w, new ones are 250w.

9.
Do,nt know about the Hartke stuff, but I've found the Ashdown stuff is wooly as a knitwear shop.
I could knit the ignorance in this reply into a nice jumper ! It is fair to say that an Ashdown flat is dull, but that's what the EQ is for. It doesn't take a lot of tweaking to make it just as bright as any other amp, and still have plenty of headroom on the EQ controls. Not sure about the Hartke gear - never tried the VX cabs.
10. Nice one Stuart - I look forward to that review . Incidentally I need to get the current BGM to see how the LoMenzo compares to my review...
11. Get a red tort on that pronto !
12. Try here.. not sure if it works out any cheaper http://www.thomann.de/gb/search_dir.html?s...amp;x=0&y=0
13. I work in an IT department and we're not allowed on the internet during working hours. ...oops.
14. I can not fault your logic phatbass787.
Only shortcoming is it weighs 48kg but I can get it into my car on my own so no real worries only an occasional bout of laziness on my part.
48Kg ?! What is it made from, concrete ?
15. Oh of course cash is accepted, I just need to have it to send for you to accept . Just bought this LoMenzo pedal so i'm stuck.
16. Pffft, haven't really got anything interesting . I quite fancy the filter..
17. What I mean by that is - I love Ashdown gear and can't see myself with anything else in the next few years, but I wouldn't be shocked if it burst into flames. Same with Alfas , no-one buys them on their reputation of reliability - but because they fell in love with the car.
18.
So is the "Breakdown" nickname undeserved then?
I like to think of Ashdown as a bit like the Alfa Romeo of the bass world .
19. Anything not 2nd hand is new - be it 1 week or 10 years old. As long as it's in good condition and at a good price I wouldn't be fussed either way .
20. What part of it doesn't ? The saddle, tail piece or nut ? I find it hard to believe that it wouldn't take a standard gauge string.. same hardware as all other Warwicks surely.
21. I'm not aware of any filter in place .
22. I've now decided to buy the pedal from Ashdown - as I don't want to send it back.
