3.
Thanks Matt for folding all the raffle ticket stubs without too much fuss ;0)
You could have at least picked my tickets .
4. Busy that weekend - have fun though .
5.
No probs dude, I completely forgot tbh - I so want to try your little box of tricks out!
I'll be recording samples of the LoMenzo through the ABM this week so you will still get to hear it . After some reflection - here are my favourites: Basses: peds fretted Vigier / tonyf's Flea / the Peavey Grind 6 BXP hiding in the corner.. Rigs: Luke's POD Pro XT / Epifani cab - that synth was killer Alas, I tried a couple of Shukers and was impressed, although didn't feel comfortable with them. Could never take something so shiny and expensive to a gig !
6. Cheers for the cable Moody .
7. Just got back, absolutely KNACKERED ! Was a good day - got to meet loads of cool people and try out some new gear ! See you next year chaps.
8.
One final whinge...Having gone a picked the amp up from ESE Music in Maidstone, where it was repaired, I was asked to pay the £15 P&P on the transormer. Given the repair was done under warranty I thought it a bit strange to be covering costs such as that. Anyway, maybe stupidly, I paid up as it's a bloody pain dring back and forth there.
D'oh ! You should have argued on that one.

14.
To put this in perspective, Pat Metheny had to write, arrange and record ALL of the music for the movie 'Map Of The World' in two weeks. And what he came up with is stunning. Doing a film soundtrack in two or three weeks is not that unusual. Learning 30 pretty basic songs like those in your list should be a breeze by comparison. Most of these songs are 16 bars on music repeated over and over again. Sweet Home Alabama is a three chord job, Comfortably Numb is a no brainer as is Paranoid and so on. If you can't nail this in three weeks, you ain't trying! Just do it.
Not particularly helpful comments there. You have basically said "pros can do it, stop whining and get on with it". Perhaps he is constrained for time by work/marriage/children ? I know I get about 10 mins a day playing myself. A helpful thing i've found are tabs, it saves you the effort of learning the notes to the song so you can concentrate on the structure. See if you can find some of them here at http://www.ultimate-guitar.com
15. The Adam Black I reviewed was great - that was RRP £299 I believe. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=14339 http://www.rosetti.co.uk/products/adamblack/b10.htm
16. Great stuff, i'm more impressed with the Nothing Else Matters though - mainly because I love that song.
17. I defretted my Yamaha 5 string about a year ago, it'll never get used out the house (for the forseeable future) but I love playing it and will never sell it. I don't play it enough though..
18. I borrowed tonyf's ASATs last week whilst he was on holiday. He has a solid and a hollow, there was a difference between them, but nothing that jumped out and smacked me in between the eyes..
19.
I have never found P basses especially comfortable to play or wear, and I find the sound 'OK' but nothing that excites me much, and for the level of simplicity I am dumbfounded by the prices of some of them!
That's pretty much it for me too. I hope to try a few at the bash to get a proper feel for them.
20. Wow, I've thankfully never encountered service as bad as some of these examples. The worst I've had is having to hunt down staff to ask to try something..
21. You sure that's a Proline ? I thought they had flamed maple tops. That looks like ash to me making it a standard ash model.
22. My Stingray isn't going anywhere.
