Ugly atrocity to the bass world. I love BBs - but this is like someone got it wrong in paintshop and put it into production.

It's a very subtle effect and having a sub won't make a difference. You'd be better off just getting an octaver pedal though.

Trace do make nice stuff, I just find it quite expensive.

I used to have one of these exactly the same... They're ok basses for the money, as good as OLPs. And indeed you'd have to make your own scratchplate as the pickup on these is smaller than a normal Musicman. Here's what I did to mine:

There is no such thing as an ABM 410H - only T. There is however an ABM410T and ABM414T, the difference being the ABM414T is 4 ohm whereas the other is 8 ohm. An important difference..

I feel the ABM has a few features that aren't terribly useful to anyone. The sub out and 'sub-harmonic generator' (octaver) being two of them. In the real world no-one is going to bring an extra sub with them..

GAK are a PITA for not-updating out of stock gear.. I suppose their excuse is that they'll order it for you.

I believe the above is correct. The TRB 100x are indeed not MIJ but probably in <enter far eastern country here>. That said, i've played a few TRB100x series and they've been great. The main difference I suppose is body wood, the TRB5II will be ash, the TRB1005 will be alder with flamed maple top I believe. If you can afford it then go for the TRB5II, if you can't then don't worry about it - you're still getting a fantastically good bass.

Yeah i'd take that over a Precision any day. It'll serve you for a long time and the only reason to upgrade is something called GAS. Seriously though - nice buy and it'll save you having to upgrade because you bought something 'too basic'.
