I think they're horrendously expensive.. i'd love one on my Stingray but can't justify £45 for a machine head that saves me about 5 seconds.

Hmm a 4 and a 5 string, both fretted ? Might be worth defretting one neck..

It's a grey area. There's either baritone guitars tuned to E (same as bass) or B (an octave above a 5 string low B[b][/b]). The manufacturers don't always differentiate between them too well, and it's easy to get confused. It depends what you want really... It'll be pretty solid being a Laney, but don't really have a fantastic reputation for bass amplification. The Laney head/cab I used to use at rehearsal wasn't too bad, but was a bit muddy. What's your budget ? We may be able to throw a few options for you to consider.

I find the prawn cocktail quavers the nicest.

Welcome to Basschat ! The BB414 is a great bass, good for rock mainly but can be quite versatile. Which Ibanez SRX had you in mind ? They're mostly pretty decent, but for me the Yamaha would be the choice.

The 15 string is tuned in semitones..muhahahaha

It may be down to an inclination to create more complex work if you have a higher level understanding of more complex music. Simplicity is nearly always a winner in being 'catchy'.

It's an entry level practise amp that has the vibe of a proper stack, kind of. For a 14 year old who loves <insert Ashdown bassist> it's a great amp for them that won't break the bank. They would then in a few years move up to a MAG/ABM etc..
