1. There's nothing wrong with Warwicks. Just a few people take exception to hating them, that's all. I wouldn't mind an Infinity SN5..
2. Yeah - might be getting one for review next month .
3. Yeah, you can safely eat a Rockbass.
4. Sounds reasonable to me.
5. Yep, an original ABM. Pre 'EVO'.
6. I've got some of those .
7. Hmm - I think you have a right to be a bit annoyed if there weren't any pics to show it's condition or he described it in good condition. If it works then I wouldn't complain too much, a kettle lead should be easy to come by.. I wouldn't expect to supply one with anything I sold.
8. I should have it the end of this week - Arbiter are very co-operative.
9. My ABM valve is dead at the moment, i'm being too lazy to order a new one. http://www.watfordvalves.com seems a good place if you need a replacement (Sovtek 12AX7 is the OEM one).
10. Why not get both !? Then you can swap them over and it'll be like a change of clothes for your bass .
11. Wow - they really do look like a bunch of cowboys.
12. Check this site out - very useful: http://www.musictheory.net/
13. I know Sound Control stock them so is there one of those by you ?
14. Great photos really do help an auction, if the pics were on some crappy webcam with dodgy lighting then people wouldn't drool so much. Like me.
15.
According to Ashdown the After Eight will drive a 2X10 comfortably, but I'm still not clear as to whether this will actually generate any extra volume? I really don't get the whole amp wattage thing. Can anyone explain? If I plug the after eight into a 2X10, I understand that the amp will only produce 15 watts, but with a cab producing 200 watts, would it be louder than with the internal speaker. I know that this is a basic question, and on the face of it sounds stupid, but that's because I am stupid. In summary, would there be any point to getting a 2X10????
No that's not quite right, the cab wouldn't produce 200w, the cab is passive and can only put out as much power as is fed to it. The 200w is is maximum power handling.. i.e. a head producing more than this would likely damage it. In summary no there isn't much point getting a 210 for it.
16. Where are you ? This may help people who are considering collecting.
17. Haha, the Crab Bass ! I think this is another example of a solution to a problem that never existed.
18. Have you looked up the serial at all ? I have a 2000 and it's great..
19. Mike has a point actually.. the OLPs are more Stingray like than most of the copies out there.
20. I saw this when it was last on - fantastic program and well worth tuning in for.
21. I wouldn't have thought they were both 4ohm cabs, i'd expect 8ohm for the ABM combo and the same for the MAG combo as they can both have extra cabs connected. That said - I think the old MAG cabs had a handling of 200w, thus a 500w load between 2 cabs would be ~250w for the MAG, this means at high volumes you definitely risk blowing the MAG. I use a MAG210 with an ABM300 head which at both 8 and 4 ohms (an extra cab) shouldn't be able to damage it.
22. I'd say no - if you're playing louder than the acoustic sound of an unplugged instrument you won't hear it.
23. Ask her what ?! Do what you want, you don't need her approval ! Buy it, and if she whinges then dump her ! You won't see me cowering in the corner if my missus says no ! I'm just off to find a corner in which to cower incase she reads this .
24. I should have one for review this month .
