1. I certainly like my ale, am warming to red wine too.
2. Yeah the flat silver is the nicest of the options. My RBX775 is flat blue at the moment, i'm going to strip it and see if the wood is good enough for a natural grain.
3.
fair points, but whenever I've been PMd I've had email notification of the fact.
It is possible to turn this off.
4. Yeah the cabs have a normal 1/4 and speakon connector (like the head). So for 2 cabs you'd need one normal speaker cable and one speakon cable.
5. Haha - I thought the same before reading the replies, get with it son ! Nice purchase though, what colour did you go for ?
6. 2 x 210 is better than 1 x 410 (unless the 410 is 4ohm). A lot of people on here have said 2 x 210 is better than 1 x 210 + 1 x 115. My 210 is enough at the moment, but if I do upgrade it'll probably be another MAG210.
7. If you can get a 410 i'd go for that, the 48 is more for portability and space requirements than anything else.
8. As moderators we won't directly interfere with transactions. We can't really take sides and will remain impartial, unless it is obvious someone is purposely committing fraud. What we will do if required is converse between buyer and seller if a stalemate has been reached in order to hopefully bring a solution to both parties. This may be the ability to email sellers directly using their registered email address, this circumvents the need for them to log on to see a PM.
9. Correct - an 8ohm cab will not get the most from the head. 2 x 8ohm cabs would, or 1 x 4ohm cab would.
10. I am dealing with an almost identical situation with someone else. But the item they bought was paid for in September...
11. How much do you think you'd be willing to save up ? For £250 you could get a Yamaha BB415 which would be alot better than the Squier.
12. For a 2nd bass I think you should save up a bit more and get something that'll serve you better and won't need upgrading. What is your current bass and what music do you play ?
13. I'm surprised that i'm below average... then again there is a couple of people with over 30 !
14. Steve Lawson may be a suitable candidate.
15. Items rarely sell without some form of image - if you upload a couple it may help .
16. Same experience here. Martin Burrows sent me a screw cap for my ABM when I told him I was missing one. He even replies to my endless torrent of stupid questions.
17.
That's scuppered that then
Looks like we have about 10% of members signed up actively posting..
18. Strictly speaking they are both MIA ! The Highway has a non-gloss (nitrocellulose I believe) but satin finish that isn't as strong as the American standard model. It is prone to more wear and will bash more easily, but some people will prefer this ! The nitro finish will lead to easier 'mojoing' of the bass. And i've not heard many people have much good to say about the S-1 switching unfortunately.. sound wise there probably isn't a lot in it, so it's up to you really ! If it were me i'd go for the American standard because I wouldn't want the finish to wear too easily.
19. I'd have it off you but I don't like the chandelier finish .
20.
Does someone get an award for having the 1000th Basschat bass??
No.
21. The preamp is what you'd use to change (EQ) your sound, the poweramp should just make that signal louder. So in theory it shouldn't matter a toss what poweramp you use. In practise though.. I've no idea .
