1. I've never taken more than one bass.. haven't played anywhere so far that would warrant it. Spare cables / battery a must though.
2. Looks great.. you can claim it's your biggest gig yet because of the thousands of people that walked past .
3. My Dad was in the same class at school as Roy Wood.. plus knew Bev Bevan.
4. Just the 3 for me.. I could easily find another 3 and justify it (except i'm skint).
5. Dave Sheriff is great. He knows what he's talking about but isn't a show off.. if I ever go in there I hope he's there as I know we can have a great chin-wag.
6. Yes, strike him down before it is too late. And then give it to me.
7. Just basses for me too.. I got excited when I was getting my ABM but that's over now. I never hear much of a difference when trying out different amps, it's either I like it or I don't, I can't tell you why...
8. It's the same cramp you'd get from overdoing anything too much.. as stated above, in time it will not be as bad and eventually not at all.
9.
However i cant seem to find anything to say who is actually allowed to apply, im sure there will be a maximum income or something?
A maximum income cannot be proven (or disproven). I could just say I don't have a job.. the application for it is done in-store.
10. Sandberg California P: See more here: http://www.sandberg-guitars.de/main/mgal_calpmhg.html
11. I'm not sure to be honest - i've never tried an OLP MM5. It's probably the same neck I reckon..
12. Damn it ! I really want a 5 string HH bass, it was either a G&L or the OLP MM32 (which I have tried and is good). Now i'll have to go and sulk because I have no money.
13. Wow - I am eligible for this.. and PMT isn't far away.. must... resist...
14. Nice - i've always been intrigued by these old Musicman basses.
15. I'm not sure if we could allow it here to be honest. The copyright issue is something that is too risky, especially as it's in the public domain.
16. The Guitarist magazine review states Korea. I never asked them myself... I would buy this bass myself if I had the cash, but it's Christmas, and I don't .
17. Not same one - the spalting is totally different . Delicate ? I wouldn't have said delicate, although it may dent if bashed hard enough.. but what wouldn't ?
18.
I think it will, because there used to be someone on Bassworld who had one with a Status graphite neck. Can't remember who it was though.
Ped.
19. I have to send it back soon but I want to keep it ! I was going to use it at practise tonight (new band woo !) but i'm scared in case I damage it since I don't own it.
20. Love the bass tone, the guitar sounds like it's coming through a 10w practise amp though, way too fuzzy for me .
21.
Where? I couldn't find 'em. Nice looking bass.
My mistake, it was £299. Original thread corrected.
Nice review Machines, I have been looking forward to reading it as I wanted to compare this bass to the BB614 and could find plenty on the Yamaha but nothing on this bass. Funnily enough a lot of the positive comments on the Yamaha were by yourself, overall if you could have only one would you choose the vintage?
I'd say if you want a more classic tone (P/J pickups), get the Yamaha, if you want a more modern active tone (J/MM), get the Vintage. You don't really lose either way...
22. I'm not about to get a hacksaw out to find out . I think it'd be a lot more hassle to make and 'bend the wood' than just put a slab of it on ! I have had it confirmed by JHS that it is indeed the thickness you see.
23. Ah yes, the forum seems to have a bug with long URLs, consider it corrected.
24. Sandberg do some very nice gear with MM pickups. Have a look at the Basic 4. http://www.sandberg-guitars.de/
25. Passive EQ = tone control on any passive bass. It in theory can only cut not boost. However Villex appear to be doing very clever things .
