I've had 4 Chinese made Ashdown products (Five Fifteen Combo / Electric Blue 180-12 / MAG210T / ABM300 EVO II) and none of them have ever gone wrong. It's as simple as this: if they were UK made the price would be higher.

Nice collection there. My BB614 was great.. agreed on the neck pickup being fantastic.

Yeah my mute is like that too . It's more of a really effective volume drop - certainly no louder than the bass acoustically.

Another thumbs up from me.. i'm on my 3rd Ashdown amp (only due to upgrades, not failures !).

Went into guitar shop by me to kill a few minutes.. it's the kind of shop you go to buy a Squier starter kit for your 12 year old, anything more exotic is likely amazingly overpriced. Anyway - they had an EHX Mini Q-Tron which I fancied trying, asked them to let me have a go. I was plugged into the smallest and least powered bass combo they had available (15w Ashdown, they had a 100w available), which the worst bass i've ever picked up (Johnson P-Copy). Oh well I thought - I just want to hear the pedal... but it didn't work ! Every note I played seemed to clip the pedal and I couldn't get a note out of it, just random farts and buzz. The response from the shop worker "Yeah it's been here ages i'm not suprised it doesn't work haha !". He offered to get me another one in, I declined the offer and departed.

I've never taken more than one bass.. haven't played anywhere so far that would warrant it. Spare cables / battery a must though.

Looks great.. you can claim it's your biggest gig yet because of the thousands of people that walked past .

My Dad was in the same class at school as Roy Wood.. plus knew Bev Bevan.

Just the 3 for me.. I could easily find another 3 and justify it (except i'm skint).

Just basses for me too.. I got excited when I was getting my ABM but that's over now. I never hear much of a difference when trying out different amps, it's either I like it or I don't, I can't tell you why...

It's the same cramp you'd get from overdoing anything too much.. as stated above, in time it will not be as bad and eventually not at all.

I'm not sure to be honest - i've never tried an OLP MM5. It's probably the same neck I reckon..

Damn it ! I really want a 5 string HH bass, it was either a G&L or the OLP MM32 (which I have tried and is good). Now i'll have to go and sulk because I have no money.
