1. Lovely pair, I like the good vs evil theme too .
2. *bump* one of these sold for £149 on eBay last week..
3. You are quite right, it would be troublesome to get pickups to fit without extra routing/mess holes, but.. Why replace the pickups anyway !? the standard BB pickups are more than capable and I never felt the need to replace them in my BB614. If you want to spend as little as possible then buy a bass than doesn't require upgrading.
4. My Electric Blue hasn't let me down yet, i'm only selling it to get an ABM.
5. Around £180 I'd say for the passive model.
6.
Owned and played Ashdown happily for a number of years. Never had any reliability issues and really like the sound too. All subjective I guess, but if it was as bad as everyone says it is, I'd argue that you wouldn't see it on as many concert stages around the world as you do.
That pretty much sums it up I think. Perhaps a marmite brand ?
7.
Will keep that in mind as the "kids" keep nagging me to let "Uncle Matt" to come over when "Daddy" is away. lol T
Well if they start calling me Daddy then you DO have to worry .
8. Yes it is.. Other cheap 5 strings to consider: Yamaha BB415 / BB615. Ibanez SRX Series (www.ibanez.com)
9. I had the pleasure last week of checking all of Tony's basses out. They are all stunning and i've offered to look after them for him when he goes on holiday .
10. They're not bad, what are you looking for in a bass ? We may be able to give some other options to you.
11. I'll go with Beedster, I reckon he's dodgy .
12. I think any bass with the right setup and technique is good enough to slap on. *Most* players choose 4 strings to slap on.
13. Looks a bit dodgy to me - the machineheads are way too close to the edge of the headstock:
14. You're joking right ? Here's a real one - work it out. http://www.flying-v.ch/81vbass/fb81bass.html
15. Ok i'm first for a free one .
16. An unnamed shop near me are trying to sell a Musicman Stingray copy (with headstock decal etc) for £400. They are aware it is fake as well...
17. WTF indeed ! He just did a slide and thinks he can play a different style of music ?!
18. Yes there is.. http://www.musiclive.co.uk/exhibitors.php
19. Looking forward to seeing you there Mark !
20. Consider a Yamaha BB415/615.
21. It's the standard looking bridge that makes me think it was a bit thrown together. Admittedly i've never even seen one to pass comment fairly..
22. Fancy checking them out but I don't think i'd ever buy one..
23. Generally something like... Deep Purple - Black Night Iron Maiden - The Trooper Marcus Miller - Power / Higher Ground Trivium - Entrance of the Conflagration
24. Review here: http://www.jazzwise.com/news/item/7177
25. Looks quite good actually - certainly better than the Dean Pace which to me is just a normal bass with the body cut off.
