1. I started on guitar when I was 18, got a bass about 4 months later.
2. I have 2Gb of RAM in my home PC, never use more than 50% of it, work PC has 1Gb and same applies.. I can't see you having any need for 4Gb, let alone more than that.
3. They list at about £600-£650 online, so £400-£450 sounds very reasonable to me.
4. Fender Marcus Miller Jazz or Sandberg Basic Ken Taylor..
5.
let's not forget the fact that he made them 1 semitone short of a 4 octave range.
Yeah that really bugs me with my Jazz - at least he redeemed himself with the Stingray . Personally single cuts don't feel comfortable to me. I have played 2 Shukers (the doodle included), and though very nice, aren't for me.
6. Would you split them ? It might induce interest in some people with individual prices.
7. I do - but haven't got anything you want (mainly being the paper stuff that pays for things).
8. That's a great price.. someone better take this..
9. The NS series are US made, hence the Czech ones having Euro in their name (except the ReBop of course). http://www.spectorbass.com/NewFiles/usneck.html
10. Yeah my '96 is a bit grubby - looks even worse when you take the strings off. The dirt does seem engrained into the wood, thus I feel the very light steel wool might be the only option.
11. The Stingray 2EQ I find well suited - it doesn't distort the natural sound of the bass only accentuate it. I've played a few Ibanez and been impressed, especially the SR505. The EQ on that was terribly powerful..
12. Oooh very nice Gwilym, what's the top ?
13. Here's my defretted Yamaha RBX775..
14. Dawsons is a bit dull. Expect standard Squier/Fender/Peavey/Yamahas and if you're lucky a couple of Stingrays. SC in Salford is definitely the best around however isn't walkable from the city centre - can't really get there without a car. Don't even bother with Forsythes, they'll probably have a bashed up dusty Squier Jazz at £220 and that's it.
15. I've played that Buzzard ! It's a tone monster - but that neck would be a handful for anyone.
16. Beat me to it ! I got my Stingray plate from there. It was a VERY tight fit at the neck pocket, took some persuasion to go on but it's fine.
17. My RBX775 has a fairly thin and shallow neck at the nut, it gets reasonably wider nearer the top frets and isn't too chunky anywhere. The BB614 I had felt fairly similar to a Precision.
18. Stunning. One hell of a piece of maple.. when we get soundclips ?
19. I got my Spector Q6 Pro from SoundControl on interest free finance. Paid it off on time and all was well - £330 in total. If I hadn't have paid it within the 12 months then it would have automatically begun a 3 year plan at about 30% APR that would have made the bass cost around £600. Be aware.
20. The bridge cover certainly isn't something I'd expect to see on the V940.. As long as you like it .
21. Headphone amp is a must - the walls are pretty thin.
22. Can you post proof you own this bass ? Excuse the hostility - but you only signed up today and first thing you do is sell a £4k bass .
