1. Snare traps ?
2. I think no musician is ever really content with themselves. I find i'm always raising the bar on what I should be able to and what I aspire to play. 4 years ago I wouldn't have dreamt of playing some of the stuff we do due to it being beyond my ability at the time - now it just seems the norm. If I suddenly thought I was 'good enough' to not want to improve i'd probably sell all my gear and start playing golf.
3. Due to the impending date - consider this stickied.
4. If you love the bass then I think you should modify it, you wouldn't want to sell it then get something else you don't get on with.
5. I find that very odd. I often plug my bass direct into my soundcard - the active basses are easily audible and don't require me to pump the volume at all. Passive basses are much quieter and require me to boost the systm volume to hear a thing..
6. I know someone who's bought a fretless 6 string of one of those, hasn't been delivered yet though..
7. Hmm I do believe a neck can feel better when its played in, but sound better ? Hmm...
8. Got a horse ?
9. Standard every time. One of our guitarists has a floyd rose on his Ibanez and would spend hours faffing about retuning..
10. Sounds pukka to me - I'm just by J4 M42. Will confirm nearer the time if I can make it, cheers .
11. What are your timings ?
12. Where !? That's a bit far for me i'm afraid. I was only going to come since it was a 20 min drive ! Have fun chaps .
13. For several months i'd been GASing for a Stingray sound-a-like . Currently a reasonable sized gig rig (300w). Ashdown MAG300 / 210 / 115 cabs will do.
14. Cowboys was done in one take right at the end of the session, it's not bad but I'm not a huge fan of the song anymore (after playing it way too much !).
15. This week: Musicman / Fender / Yamaha. I may sell the Jazz..
16. It's going to be a case of organise without me and i'll make it if I can for me.
17. The 2 I went to were cool, much much smaller than the Bass Bash but that leads to a more intimate (ooer) feel.
18. D'Addario Prosteels / EXLs / Chromes. I Like D'Addario .
19. I apologise for the terrible mixes - our singer thought that it needed 'more treble'. Hopes Crumble To Dust recorded on Yamaha BB614, all others Yamaha RBX775. http://www.myspace.com/shatteredage
20. Good stuff - do you play weddings ?
21. I'd go for the 'cosmetic advantage'. You'll only be cheesed off if you get a 7 piece on the net for the sake of a few quid.
22.
If you haven't been in, they have some great bands on.....lots of music tastes catered for....great crowd....fantastic place to play........worth a visit Mart.
Never been there - I know roughly where it is though.
i onder if you could fit another pup in the original space so you'd have a closely spaced double pup version.
I could do - the original routing remains - however I don't think i'd bother .
23. Soundclip: http://www.machinesofhate.myby.co.uk/Stingray.mp3
24.
Great looking bass Machines, I've got a transitional bridge one myself. Can you still buy the mute kits and if so where from and how much? That pickup placement does look rather interesting........... By the way, noticed where you live, do you ever play at the Harvester in Solihull? - one of my fave gigs, fantastic crowd. Mart.
Harvester is a pub chain ? Which one ?
25. I'll put some soundclips up tomorrow .
