  1. It's not the sentiment here but the delivery, it wreaks of the 'NO IRISH' signs in UK pubs of old. In this situation, i'd quite likely leave them looking for a bassist too.
  2. Stop it, that's my job.
  3. I haven't had a PJ bass (other than a starter instrument 20 years ago), and now I have both standard and reverse setups (BB415 / Euro LX). They're quite different - but they do sound great. I never stuck with any Jazz bass for long, but these seem to do what I want a lot better. All 3 settings I find useable (mostly leaning to the P or both).
  4. I have never modified the bridge on my basses, because I think it's snake oil.
  5. Perhaps - but they aren't on this website debating it with potential customers.
  6. This is true, but they aren't making claims about extra sustain. I'm willing to believe it could be true, but as a business model - you are asking people to just believe it and spend quite a substantial amount on unproven equipment. This would in my opinion, limit your sales.
  7. Whenever there's a pricing debate - this is what applies: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supply_and_demand
  8. Considering the amount of physics expertise involved in this design, can you produce some data on how that relates to an improvement in sustain. e.g. a dB decay graph over time compared to a 'bent bit of tin', same bass same strings.
  9. Cheers.
  10. Just watched this. Might message the seller on Facebook and gazump @AndyTravis
  11. I have a list of the decent (or sometimes not) UK guitar shops 2nd hand pages. I check them daily.
  12. Now can you find mine, I keep finding yours.
  13. Get on with it already.
  14. Actually, it's Nautilus Fibonacci
  15. Rarely bothered by Fodera's, but that is a work of art.
  16. My Dad has one of those, you got it for a good price. They can sound OK - but they are definitely a relic of old times. I think it's late 60s/early 70s. The bridge under that cover is erm, industrial - to say the least.
  17. I've watched this, it seems to somehow overlook the fact it is connected to a wood bench by the bridge, and wooden frame at the headstock. What wood are they made from ? Hmmm sounded like alder.
  18. I suffer from Reynaulds Syndrome occasionally, especially in subzero temps. Particuarly bad when first starting a rehearsal after carrying gear outside and not having much time to warm up, my fingers will go white and numb. No real solution other than time in the warm to get it back to normal.
  19. I used to live there 😁
  20. Amazingly I have an RBX775 that's nearly on 19 years and a MIM Precision I have gigged once and rehearsed twice with that's on 7. Everything else is within the last 12 months.
  21. I might buy it, then @Al Krow will have to send it to me.
  22. Same figuring to left of neck pickup.
  23. A lot of this depends on if a guitar is bought for it's quality versus rarity. I imagine there are a LOT of Gibson Custom Shop Les Pauls that are hanging on walls around the world that have never been played beyond a bad version of Smoke On The Water. I think high end obscure basses wouldn't be as susceptible to this however. To answer the question - am I good enough to play a Fodera ? Yes. I can play anything on a Fodera I can on a £200 Yamaha. Would I feel comfortable having such an expensive instrument that I wouldn't reveal the nuances of in my pub rock covers band ? No.
