  1. I took my new Euro LX to practice Weds night. The singer said it was the best bass sound she's ever heard. Punched straight through without being obnoxious, this was with the Tonepump set to about 4 on bass/treble. I have the action setup so it snaps when I dig in, but doesn't buzz when playing with more restraint.

    Bongo to try?

The Bass Gallery also have a Bongo 6HH for £1650. I would have bought it a few months ago but price is a bit steep and I realised it was just GAS. https://thebassgallery.com/products/ebmm-bongo-6

    Bongo to try?

I've managed to get through the last 20 years practicing without a strap on.
  4. What scale is the B ?

    Bongo to try?

I think that was my issue too, having had a Bongo 5HS, 4HH and SR5 HH. Which sound do I use ?! I think now however i've calmed down a bit, and know what is appropriate when, I would happily have a Bongo 4 again.
  6. This is my experience too. I've neutralised by loosening the string till you can push it loose through the bridge a few mm and it turns back to a natural position.
  7. Bridge, challenge is easy.
  8. Yep, think I'm over the idea already but cheers 🤣
  9. Still good here. Got 2-3 I want to sell, whichever goes first decides what stays - it's quite exciting really. My band finally seems to have woken up after the New Year and we have a rehearsal Weds hopefully - that'll give me something to actually do with what I have.
  10. I can be there in 10 mins to help.
  11. Same applies with girlfriends.
  12. I think the issue with searching for 'the one' is the assumption that your desires are static. My solution (so far) is to have a moderate number of 2nd hand mid-level instruments that can be sold/replaced at little cost (usually just shipping). None of them are duplicates in terms of appearance or sounds, so that helps me cater for what I want that day, or hour etc. That said, this new Euro 4LX is quickly ranking up the 'best i've had' chart.
  13. Mine does get a little weary of my apparent eternal dissatisfaction, but knows I won't break the bank with my whims. There's an informal agreement that the rack (7 spaces) cant be overfull unless something's in there's for sale. I think that's a good thing as I probably wouldn't ever stop otherwise.
  14. She knows them better than most.
  15. You'll break, I know your weaknesses.
  16. I am in the anti gas 2022 club. So far so good, I try and relieve the pressure by finding basses @AndyTravis would like and try and get him to buy them instead.
  17. I have made a Pivot Table of mine. Needless to say 2021 was intense.
  18. Looks like it's based off the GB94 (I have a GB95). Interested to see what the pickup switching options will be. EDIT: Doesn't look like it's new:
  19. Had a good bonding session with it tonight. Tweaked the tonepump so it doesn't overload my ears and now it's perfect. Never had a reverse PJ setup before but I like it a lot. Hopefully have a rehearsal in the next week or two, however I have a Spidey sense the band is about to fold (radio silence on that chat). Ah well.
  20. This wasn't a planned purchase at all, saw it pop up - dribbled, worked out what I could sell and clicked order from Andertons 2nd hand section. Looks like a 2017 build, absolutely mint condition. I had a similar 2017 Euro 6LX for about 3 weeks I found in GuitarGuitar Birmingham 2 years ago, but had to sell at short notice due to life events (didn't lose any money at least). Having bought and sold quite a lot in that time, I always wanted it back but certainly didn't need a 6 string (Yamaha RBXJM2 covers that). So this popped up on my daily browse, I sent the link to my GAS Enablement Buddy (@AndyTravis) who agreed it should be procured immediately. No setup required, strings should be OK too - had about 30 mins on it so far, and it's great (obviously). Probably going to have to sell 2-3 to pay for it, but quality > quantity. Especially as this seems quite versatile.
  21. 0.82% of the year complete, all good so far.
