  1. Maybe in a darker hue.
  2. Drag the slider to end of video. Click restart. No ads.
  3. Had it a week, so far so good.
  4. I'd have the MM a bit higher than they did, with the bottom coil in the J position. The gap they have between the lugs bothers me though, not sure if that can be avoided however.
  5. I really like this idea. If that MM can be coil tapped as well, even better.
  6. @Richard R Take off the list sorry, that's a kid weekend
  7. Bought a bass from Ted. Nice chap, fair and good for a chat
  8. Shonks bought from me. Good comms, negotiation and quick payment.
  9. Took my RH750 as the studio amp was a 200w Peavey 😫
  10. They're having 4 auditions so spoilt for choice really. Think my playing was not too bad but I think personality will be more part of it. Mine can be quite acidic 🤣. Sounded great, stuck it on the neck pickup and just left it at that.
  11. Ok I'll join the party. Got it Saturday and took it to an audition last night and it was great.
  12. This is the bonus of the Distance Selling Act. Also if something else turns up it's been mis-sold and you have another set of rights for that.
  13. Yeah, I agree most of the new ones are somewhat and the preamp can tame the glassiness but you do lose a bit of presence. The 765 isn't at all however, sounds like a smooth passive Jazz, my current favourite.
  14. RBX374 in Dark Oriental Green has joined. Got it for a stupid price delivered from Andertons on a Saturday (which somehow was free) with a case too. It was pretty dirty and the strings were past it, but a good blitz and some new strings and it's on par with my Sire M5 for tone (in parallel with flat EQ).
  15. The SSL certificate is valid, so looks like an erroneous error.
  16. Brand new one at £1875 so a bit of a saving but nothing to dazzle. I think more like £1300 is realistic. https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Comb_4_UV.html
  17. I took this tonight. It's first outing since purchase it did quite well.
  18. Same, I never struggled with my 112 but I wanted a matching setup. Great thing about the RS212 is you can just slide it upright onto the back seat and buckle it in.
  19. Absolutely any post with a Yamaha RBX6JM for sale, particuarly this one, stupid money.
  20. Well, some amps seem to respond better at high volumes than low, and vice versa. My EICH was probably better at low volumes than the TC cab.
  21. Had mine a few weeks now, and sold my EICH 112 to upgrade to a RH212. Haven't been able to crank it yet but it sounds spot on. I A/B'd both cabs at BassDirect using the RH750. The RH having a bit more presence so I went for that.
  22. I can also support no fan actuating unless under load for a bit. Glad you're having fun with it 🙂
  23. I've stopped feeling guilt since it became cost neutral, I may have a few quid tied up in the short term, but can sell them quickly without losing out if needed. Off to Cash Converters in Brum now in case someone has pawned a RBX6JM and it isn't on the website.
  24. Since this thread was originally posted 5 years ago, I have bought 24 instruments 🤣. Of which I have a total of 3 still (none bought more than 6 months ago). Why is that ?! It's nothing to do with having 'good stuff'. Buying and selling (for profit 90% of the time) is as much as part of me as playing the damned things. Since the original post I've been divorced (not related to GAS amazingly) and remarried, my new partner is quite accepting of my gear flipping and likes that it keeps me out of her way happy, but also that it's not negatively impacting financially. That is the end of this chronicle for now.. so I'm off to find that elusive Yamaha RBX6JM .
  25. Depends if your priority is using more electricity or having a loud amp.
