  1. This is my current fave - anyone on the forum ?! RevDrGlover (Coventry) Sunday 24 Mar 2019, 7:26pm I'll turn-up to every practice, won't do tiresome bass solos, will syncopate between lead guitar and the kick-drum, fattening-up your sound, and will have no opinion about 'musical direction', just like bass players should. I've been playing with bands that are 'nearly ready to gig' for four years, without playing an actual gig. I bloody love making music with other people. Happy to carry-on doing that; thoroughly enjoying practice sessions, or actually practice to the point of actually playing an actual gig. I'm in my 50's with a mental age of 14 or so, and love what bass guitar can do to glue a band together. If that's what you're missing; I'm your man*. [*Or your gender-neutral bass-person who's cosplaying a fat lazy old bloke.] Blip me a DM, and I'll WhatsApp you on Instagram, or fax you a Telex at your Reddit PO Box number. Erm, bro.
  2. My 2005, almost mint condition. I have the bridge/pickup cover for them which makes it look cooler but gets in my way.
  3. I was merely sharing public info regarding his company filing to clarify the speculation on the finances involved. I didn't expect the DailyMail style critique of it all.
  4. https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/08528890/filing-history
  5. I have an audition tomorrow night i'm not optimistic for, think they may be a bit pushy and 'do it this way' but we shall see.
  6. I'm quite likely to grab one of these, wish they were available sooner.
  7. So many bands are looking for people to just fit in, do as they're told etc. This is why I am generally not in bands 90% of the time. You can generally sniff them out up front from the wording of the adverts.
  8. My Dad has about 10 guitars all in hard shell cases. I have mine easily accessible in a rack - as such I play them all over the course of a few days. I'm sure he has some that haven't seen daylight in the last 12 months. I don't see the point in having them if you can't see them and want to randomly pick them up.
  9. I see each instrument as having a certain voice. You could be Tom Jones and sing with the phrasing of Freddie Mercury, but you'll sound like Tom Jones.
  10. I saw a rumour that it was cheaper to 'lose the data' publically, than the cost of migrating them to a new platform. As someone who works in IT, I can actually believe this. Glad I backed up my old metal band MP3s into Google Drive...
  11. Sorry for reviving the thread. I tried a new Stingray 4HH today (sparkly blue one) in GuitarGuitar and it was underwhelming. Sounded nice and all that, but I really didn't feel £2200 in my hands. Setup wasn't great which is surprising but I'll blame the shop. My OLP MM22 honestly sounds just as good and was 12% of the cost.
  12. You can see there isn't much to building a R*ck copy,, the bespoke hardware may be a factor in the cost but OY MY GOD HOW MUCH.
  13. That's been around a few months. I'm at a loss as to why it was even built to start with.
  14. Apparently it's also pretty darn cheap... https://www.thomann.de/gb/zoom_gce_3_usb_guitar_interface.htm?glp=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAqt7jBRAcEiwAof2uKwM1jj2apTXcSwnwlhGMsh4AJ9gQLqwMctTd2H7uiI8W_EpnTrGS4xoCME4QAvD_BwE
  15. I applaud Fender for trying something new, but the product entered a saturated market. It lacked any discernible USP and was really up against G&L functionality wise. Ironic.
  16. Philip Schofield says we should use webuyanycar. I'm not sure he's doing that out of generosity.
  17. I don't think i've ever hated any of them, but of the 33 i've sold in the last 16 years (I have a spreadsheet OK), none of those were clearly what I wanted in the long term.
  18. Wow, what a steal. My Dad once got a new USA Gretsch Firebird marked up as an Electromatic for £299 from SoundControl, he even asked them to check the price was right ! I don't think they're doing so well nowadays...
  19. I got both, but only ever take the Jazz.
  20. I looked at the picture before I saw your guess of a Hofner, that's mine too.
  21. A flawed argument. Vintage cars can sell for far higher values than their modern counterparts, but are lesser quality products.
  22. So did I until September, just behind Mill Lodge school.
