  1. That's been around a few months. I'm at a loss as to why it was even built to start with.
  2. Apparently it's also pretty darn cheap... https://www.thomann.de/gb/zoom_gce_3_usb_guitar_interface.htm?glp=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAqt7jBRAcEiwAof2uKwM1jj2apTXcSwnwlhGMsh4AJ9gQLqwMctTd2H7uiI8W_EpnTrGS4xoCME4QAvD_BwE
  3. I applaud Fender for trying something new, but the product entered a saturated market. It lacked any discernible USP and was really up against G&L functionality wise. Ironic.
  4. Oof, looks just like mine. Bargain here folks.
  5. Philip Schofield says we should use webuyanycar. I'm not sure he's doing that out of generosity.
  6. I don't think i've ever hated any of them, but of the 33 i've sold in the last 16 years (I have a spreadsheet OK), none of those were clearly what I wanted in the long term.
  7. Wow, what a steal. My Dad once got a new USA Gretsch Firebird marked up as an Electromatic for £299 from SoundControl, he even asked them to check the price was right ! I don't think they're doing so well nowadays...
  8. I went to Sharmans Cross school.
  9. I got both, but only ever take the Jazz.
  10. I looked at the picture before I saw your guess of a Hofner, that's mine too.
  11. A flawed argument. Vintage cars can sell for far higher values than their modern counterparts, but are lesser quality products.
  12. So did I until September, just behind Mill Lodge school.

  14. Thanks @bartelby saved me the hassle 😊
  15. Pretty much, they usually have same pickups/preamp etc (unsure about pickup spacing) so you'd probably get a similar sound from either assuming those variables are the same.
  16. It was a good enough price for me not to ponder more than 2 min.

    OLP MM22

Before the extinction of OLP by Ernie Ball just before the introduction of the new Sterling by Musicman range, OLP briefly produced the OLP MM22 and 32 basses. These were effectively a Stingray HH with 3 band EQ and 5 position switching. I remember trying one out in a shop in 2008 and being quite impressed by it, but not in the position to buy at the time. They were about £300. I saw this pop up on eBay recently for a decent price, but it didn't look in great condition. Took a risk on it as it was a cash converts type place with 30 day return policy, so it seemed a decent risk. Got it delivered to the local Argos in about 25 miles of bubble wrap which took me around 3 days to open, but the bass was intact so no big deal (recycling bin is full though). It had beyond dead strings, so I didn't even plug it in at first. Snipped them off as I had some DRs Sunbeams on standby. The fretboard was disgusting and there was a lot of dust everywhere. Some lemon oil, a toothbrush and much scrubbing later - all was well. Plugged in there was issues with the switch, it would cut out in any neck position, a few squirts of WD40 contact cleaner saw to that. In the end however, we have quite a serviceable bass. The EQ is good and the switching really opens up some possibilities. Bridge pickup is obvious, but position 4 is quite hollow (EB-0 ?), position 3 reminded me of my old Bongo HH, position 2 is very Jazz like and position 1 is a nice P like thump. Impressive stuff. Is it a keeper ? Yes, but so were the other 20+ basses I said that about.
  18. Different body shape, different neck profiles, different string spacing.
  19. Pewter. Estimated age 2007/8
  20. Only user reporting it.
  21. Wow you got the Strat done in a matching sofa paintjob.
  22. To be honest I don't really have the time.
  23. Possibly. The saddles can move sideways but not sure about how much you could get away with.
