Trace Elliott ELF vs TC Electronic BAM200 opinions?
Machines replied to Dennis1971's topic in Amps and Cabs
I have an Elf and EICH 1x12 4Ω cab. I have done a small gig with it no problem (jazz cafe). I felt like I had plenty of headroom too. It's more than enough for most situations, but I wouldn't put my money on it coping in a loud rock band with 2 guitarists. It's decent at low volumes too, but I think a lot of your experience will revolve around what cab you get also. -
2019 Gear Abstinence Challenge (Updated with 'rules')
Machines replied to Sibob's topic in General Discussion
I'm a bit late to the party here, but i'm doing OK for 2019 (compared to previous years) Picked up a Yamaha RBX775 and an OLP MM22 on eBay within 2 weeks of each other for very good prices. The RBX was to 'replace' the one I've had since 2002 and effectively undo the custom defret, refin etc. OLP because I like 2 pickup Stingrays, but haven't the pocket for one. I then sold my Dingwall NG3, as quite frankly it's 'too good' for my needs as a bedroom bassist and part time band member. I now have money back in my pocket and reassigned to a wedding. I went through a bit of amp GAS a few weeks ago, then just picked up a Zoom B3N 2nd hand for £80, plenty to fix the cleanliness of my Trace Elliot Elf there. Sold a 7 string guitar too, don't miss it. The GAS demon is a bit lost, it wants to encourage me to buy stuff, but there is nothing out there I actually want, let alone need, let alone afford. My GAS solution as such, is have a few modestly priced instruments that are very different, the expensive ones give me anxiety and I grow to dislike them due to the inherent wasted capital. -

I got bored of waiting and bought a 2nd hand B3N.

Big thanks to T-Bay for helping me with a new switch in my OLP MM22.

Hurry and bid, before this item goes whey pasteurize. You feta believe this is a chance for a pizza rock and roll history.

I bought what I thought would be my ultimate bass last year, a Dingwall NG3. It did everything it should but I couldn't mentally justify having 1500 quid in capital doing not much. Quite happy now with my Miller Jazz and OLP MM22, doubt I'll spend more than 750 on anything again*. *But I probably will

USA Gretsch 6131 Firebird, brand new for £299 from SoundControl Brum. They had it marked up as an Electromatic, even stuck to the price when asked if it was right. They're out of business nowadays, not sure why.

Hahahahah. Just because something is rare doesn't mean it's valuable.

Can't find anything similar online. Thought there'd be something somewhere.

I like this guy. No talking, same riffs most of the time and points a lot. https://www.youtube.com/user/indrapepenk

I left my Jazz Deluxe out last year, it warped the pickguard. Had to soak in boiling water and left it under a heavy granite chopping board for 10 mins to fix.

Hi chaps, The 5 way in my OLP is a bit sketchy and the neck pickup generally cuts out. I've tried contact cleaner but it tends to only work for a few minutes. With so many switch types I don't want to buy the wrong one - can anyone help isolate what this is and possibly point out places to buy ? Thanks :). n.b. current switch allows following selections: * Neck Humbucker * Both pickups inner coils * Both pickups both coils * Both pickups outer coils * Bridge humbucker

This is my current fave - anyone on the forum ?! RevDrGlover (Coventry) Sunday 24 Mar 2019, 7:26pm I'll turn-up to every practice, won't do tiresome bass solos, will syncopate between lead guitar and the kick-drum, fattening-up your sound, and will have no opinion about 'musical direction', just like bass players should. I've been playing with bands that are 'nearly ready to gig' for four years, without playing an actual gig. I bloody love making music with other people. Happy to carry-on doing that; thoroughly enjoying practice sessions, or actually practice to the point of actually playing an actual gig. I'm in my 50's with a mental age of 14 or so, and love what bass guitar can do to glue a band together. If that's what you're missing; I'm your man*. [*Or your gender-neutral bass-person who's cosplaying a fat lazy old bloke.] Blip me a DM, and I'll WhatsApp you on Instagram, or fax you a Telex at your Reddit PO Box number. Erm, bro.

My 2005, almost mint condition. I have the bridge/pickup cover for them which makes it look cooler but gets in my way.

I was merely sharing public info regarding his company filing to clarify the speculation on the finances involved. I didn't expect the DailyMail style critique of it all.

I have an audition tomorrow night i'm not optimistic for, think they may be a bit pushy and 'do it this way' but we shall see.

I'm quite likely to grab one of these, wish they were available sooner.

So many bands are looking for people to just fit in, do as they're told etc. This is why I am generally not in bands 90% of the time. You can generally sniff them out up front from the wording of the adverts.

My Dad has about 10 guitars all in hard shell cases. I have mine easily accessible in a rack - as such I play them all over the course of a few days. I'm sure he has some that haven't seen daylight in the last 12 months. I don't see the point in having them if you can't see them and want to randomly pick them up.
