I took my Cort in for commission sale and fancied trying a few things since I was there. Tried a G&L L2000 and a 2nd hand Bongo. The former was good but had one before and remembered why I moved it on. The Bongo had the worst strings I've ever seen on a bass and made it sound lifeless (they were like dead flatwounds). I said I couldn't play it like this and they offered to put new strings on there and then. 10 mins later all good and I put a deposit down on the Bongo. Don't ask don't get.

I was in on Thursday and it wasn't there but didn't ask.

So there's some reasonable truth in it. I expect it'll become a luxury addon and low spec instruments will have the newer materal.

I borrowed a headed 5 string S2 Classic for a few days. Lovely instrument would consider buying one in future. Felt like absolute quality.

Another Lakland vote from me. My 55-60 is outstanding.

I have quite different ones that may overlap a bit. I've come to conclusion though I'm selling one that is a great bass but after 2 years still doesn't make me grin like the others.

I'd like this but with a neck pickup too (with same options) but keeping the bridge pickup where it is, this would make it similar to an L-2000 but with better MM sounds available, I also prefer it with a pickguard which isn't available on the L-2000.

Drummers are also generally rarer than other players so are always in demand, so if bored can be likely to just leave.

The pickup is in the wrong place for a Stingray tone. Also the EQ is very different.

Well it's definitely loud enough. I'm used to a more complex EQ but the 3 provided do seem to have the right centres. I find I generally need the treble at 7 to get anything sounding decent though. My old GenzBenz was better, but this is smaller and lighter and I don't gig anymore so definitely a capable amp for home use and possible rehearsal/jam usage.

Just picked up a 2nd hand combo for under 200 quid from Crack Converters. Seemed a good deal and it is in good condition. I sold my GenzBenz Contour 500 210 last year as it was taking up too much space and somewatt (sic) overpowered for home practice. Got tomorrow off work so going to give it a good workout, if it's a duffer I have a 24 hour return policy on it.

Soundwise I doubt you'll notice the difference. The Ray34 is now about the same price new as a used USA Stingray though so i'd be going 2nd hand not new (which is extortionate).

It's most likely the setup and strings being different to what you are used to.

[/quote] They have parking down the side of the building accessed via the side road off the cross roads. About 10 spaces at an angle so if you have a big car it can be a bit tight.

I don't have one but have played one. I'd say not too tight maybe 18mm

I saw one in GuitarGuitar Birmingham today. Looked on for the price but boring enough not to warrant plugging it in.

Even if you don't like it you should be able to shift at a profit.

I sold my 6 string 2nd hand for 900 in 3 days of going on sale.
