1. Currently, all Warwicks are Germany and all Rockbass are China.
2. I didn't know there were any Chinese made ones, are they not Rockbass ? The Standard series was built in Korea for a couple of years (I have a Corvette 4) and then moved back to Germany, i assume they didn't sell very well due to this fact but can confirm the quality is top notch. My Korean Pro Series is as good as the German Corvette 5 I had a few years ago. Thomann had a massive clearout of them last year when they got discontinued and some bargains were had. The Pro Series is not the 'Team Built' or something, is lower spec and more expensive.
3. Withdrawn, had a reconciliation with it earlier and we will stay together.
4. It'll sound worse than it looks too.
5. I popped in at lunch time today to check out some 8 string guitars (don't ask). The bass stuff is decent, but seems a bit of LOTS of a few brands, although not rubbish ones (Fender/Sandberg/Musicman/Ibanez & R*ckenbacker).
6. I think I would never sell a bass for less than i'd be willing to pay for it myself, and often that price is what I in fact what I did pay. I'd rather keep it and let it collect dust than let someone have a better deal than I did. I'm pretty resigned to keeping my Warwick now though, it's a great bass and sounds immense, if it was a 5 string i'd probably never have put it up. Trading it in for something else isn't a real option, I think PMT Birmingham quoted me £250 on it ! Oh how I laughed.
7. Pessimistic bump.
8. I'm confused here. Any bass will work. Except a Hofner.
9.
ebay?
Not free.
10. A fair point, but where are people selling them instead ? There isn't much on Gumtree either.
11. I've got a Warwick up for sale at the moment, and am amazed I haven't even had a sniff. Not even a PM with a lowball offer ! (Anyone who wishes to please go ahead, it will make me feel popular). It seems people are either skint, or don't care any more and are happy with what they have. The trend for very expensive instruments in the sale forum is also certainly increasing. I'd love to know some metrics around success rates of sales based on price brackets.
12. Why not a 44-02 ? It will do the Jazz bass sound and you won't lose anything the 55-02 did.
13. On behalf of blind 5 year olds, I find this post offensive.
14. Bump, the price is not firm - just a ball park. Still looking for trade offers - try me.
15. I'm seeing them on the 16th.
16.
Hi Machines, We will often attend shows with the intention of showcasing a particular concept or set of products, this means that we rarely bring a wide range of stock and tend to focus on a handful of products. As for pricing we're primarily a distributor, we can't price things too keenly at shows, retailers will usually offer the best value to consumers. Thanks,
I think this is short sighted - offering strings at cost of course won't get you very far in the short term, but could result in more long term customers who have not tried your products before. Me ? I'm just after a discount
17. A 5/6 string bass is the same as a 4 string, with 1 or 2 extra strings. The 4 in the middle will sound the same.
18. I like the strings, but at a guitar show in Birmingham they were charging more than I can get them for on your well known strings suppliers websites. In fact this year I don't think they had ANY bass strings.
19. If you just want the sound, a G&L JB2 is a good move. If you want the same look, my vote is Lakland 44-60 or DJ4..
