Impossible, unless you added a big old humbucker in the same position and had a coil tap for the single coil sound too.

I like the option of having a bypass, but how many people have actually had a battery go flat in a gig ?!

I agree on a G&L L-2000, although i've heard the M series are much more tamable.

Q series model was discontinued for the Legend to start around 2003-2004.

My 2013 Indonesian will never ever leave. Amazing quality easily best sounding bass I've ever had. And I've had a lot.

The newer Holoflash finishes don't seem to be as good, they look more like cheap holograms.

After a few days with it i don't think anything really [i]needs[/i] to be changed. If you want a more Stingray sound I think the pickup will need rewiring to parallel but cutting the mid control does a fairly decent job of this. I think the preamp is definitely the only thing that really stands out as not great, but if you leave it flat you won't ever know. I may replace it but not sure what with that isn't overly costly (e.g.not a U-Retro).

Any brand will join this bandwagon. I saw some Ferrari headphones on Saturday. They are or course well known in the audio industry. I'll stick to my AKG and not worry about looking 'ccol'.

I've just bought one from BassDirect. It's a 2013 model and has a coil selector for the humbucker instead of a 'slap switch' thankfully so on paper is the same spec as a Lakland 55-02 (which was my target, but half the price). I agree with other reviews that the preamp isn't the best, but when bass/treble are generally ignored I found cutting of the mids to be most effective especially for getting a good Stingray sound. I may upgrade the preamp in the future but wouldn't spend a fortune. But I think decent pickups (e.g. Nordstrand/Seymour Duncan) would turn this from a good instrument into a great one.
