They were £950 or so new so it would have been a great deal.

I sold a rare Spector Q6 Pro in Holoflash for no good reason in 2007 and regretted it. One came up for sale last year at BassDirect and I snapped it up. It isn't the same bass but it feels like it is.

I did think it was a bit slow on my phone even on 4G.

Bass into Zoom B3 then into amp but the B3 is mostly used as an expensive and overly complex tuner :/.

I'm not sure really where in the market these go. The Jazz is fair enough, it'll sell well I imagine with the fairly unique preamp and Marcus is actually associated to Jazz basses (that headstock shape is fugly though). The M3 has nothing in terms of relevance to Marcus and looks like the lovechild of a Traben and Ibanez SRX, I don't think black is the best colour for it as it looks like a metaller's bass. The red and brown ones (couldn't they think of a cooler name ?) do look a lot better. I'd be interested in trying both however.

Here I am a year later, time allowed me to tell what I really wanted. I've sold the Variax (for a good profit) and am also selling the T-40 (at a loss unfortunately). Before selling either though I acquired a Spector Q6 Pro, I used to have one about 8 years ago and regretted selling it. When one popped up at Bass Direct in the same rare finish (holoflash) i just [b]had [/b]to have it. I did a trade for the L-2000 and yes I do miss it a bit, but am happier overall with what i've gained. The T-40 is a tone machine, but I just can't see it sat there not being used a lot compared to the others. I'm hoping to buy a Warwick Corvette Pro series with the proceeds when it sells (one I tried at Bass Direct which I really connected with). We're in a better position financially than I expected with the little one so I don't really need to sell anything, it's just GAS (it always get you eventually).

Am I the only one who finds his videos annoying ? I think it's the repetition at the start telling me to go to the website for more lessons on every one.

I didn't even consider a US Fender over my 55-60. I totally bought it on a whim based on colour .

I tried 3 in Birmingham and 2 of them were faulty. One was totally dead and the other one of the pickups was dead. Try before you buy but don't expect a lot. The Chaos 5 I nearly went for but know deep down whilst it had the pickup config I wanted, wasn't great quality.

Great bass, did everything I ever needed but for me lacked a bit of soul.

I imagine they are touting the new TRBX range and trying to dissolve both the RBX and TRB range as there is a bit of overlap.

I'm terrible. I only listen to the same few bands (although their entire discography) and find it very difficult to find new bands I like in the same way (plus the new bands need to sound like the bands I already like !). I've tried all sorts to get around this but dismiss new music so easily if I find it predictable or simple. I think i've found 1 new band I like in the last 3 years (Haken).

I bought my T-40 from Drew and he delivered it to my house himself to try with no commitment from me expected. I think his prices may be a little high at times but definitely provided a great service to me.

They did not perfect it. A Mexican P/J is in no way similar to any Skyline and I'd have people agree with me if I said the Skylines were equal to or even surpassed US Fenders.

Great video which generally told me there isn't much difference between them. The 77 was indeed a lot brighter and possibly had a a lower action but I think you could have done the same with any of them with a little EQ. The others did have very subtle differences, but nothing you'd ever notice as soon as you were playing with others.

I have 6 and it probably too many, but I like the choice. I don't think I have any that are too overlapping in sound (except perhaps the Variax) so I feel justified in their existance. A quick summary for those who care: [b]Lakland 55-60[/b] - An amazing classic sounding Jazz but 35" scale 5 string. [b]Spector Q6[/b] - Very focused and clear sound from the EMGs, really cuts through a mix. [b]Fender Precision[/b] - Fitted with flats for old school thump, my general 'pick up and learn a new song bass. [b]Peavey T-40[/b] - Heavy but cranked with a pick not much can beat it. Many sounds and still surprises me. [b]Line 6 Variax [/b]- The ultimate chameleon bass. The normal models aren't all convincing but there is nothing more versatile, the acoustic and 8/12 strings are a particular bonus. [b]Yamaha RBX775 - [/b]Defretted a few years ago and fitted with flats, I can get an amazing upright tone from it. I do fancy a Stingray still even though the T-40 can do the sound with some EQing, I think it's the look I miss.
