2. I had some and the pickup casing wad rounded and a matt/satin finish. Of course they can be put in the old covers still ! Also I remember tidy twisted wiring. I have the box still so can let upload a pic.
3. I had a German Corvette 5 $$. To think one would be near enough 2 grand new now is worrying. It was good but not THAT good. I traded it for a hand made Bacchus.
4. Please tell us what kind of feedback you expected ? I honestly want to know.
5. Did you actually think it would be genuine ?
6. A biological anomaly perhaps, but one I didn't think sounded great.
7. She sounded like my vacuum cleaner.
8. I think Fender have tried very hard but ended up with what looks like someone else's product. Fair enough most of their selling point is based on 1950s design but I feel that this should have emulated this and Fender should avoid modern vibes that other brands will wipe the floor with.
9. Tried a Modern Player version in PMT Birmingham yesterday. It was ok but didn't really inspire me. Of the 5 positions on the switch, the 3 middle sounded utterly identical. I think the 2 pickup active model will be a lot better but then I can just see it being an L2000 copy, irony overload.
10. EB0 with nylon flats.
11. Yeah, and LOVES to fray and look messy.
12. Raising the action should minimise how much string vibrates on th fretboard which usually dictates how much fretless 'mwah' is heard. Also what about a mute ?
13. Raise your action and get flats is my advice.
14. Dirt settled in gaps between frets. Release tension to close gaps (squeeze dirt from gaps) and whack to remove. Makes sense.
15. They are friendly. And good at hiding.
16. I've been going to PMT for about 10 years and think whilst their stock is decent the staff have changed. Went a couple of times with money to spend and walked out as I couldn't find someone to serve me.
17. Fair Deal for generic and boring Ibanez, Squier and Yamaha basses. PMT for the same plus a few good Fenders, Musicman and Sandberg. GuitarGuitar for all of the above minus Sandberg but in place is Lakland and Sadowsky. Guess which wins for me.
18. Detune the affected string by a semitone and I bet the deadspot moves up a fret.
19. My Yamaha RBX775. Present from parents on my 21st birthday. It's since been defretted and refinished and I don't play it a lot, but it's never leaving.
20. Had my G&L 2.5 years and it's still on the OEM battery. I so use it passive a lot though I suppose.
21. I'm impressed both with the product and also their balls. I'll definitely be trying one out. I've thought for a long time there was a gap in the market for Stingray tonal rivals
22. My Lakland 55-60 with brand new EXLs with the SWR SIM on my Zoom B3 is pretty damned closed.
23.
Tanglewood/Overwater Classic?
This
24.
Swap the 2 position series/parallel switch to a 3-way series/parallel/single coil?
Yep. Got the wiring diagram, too technical for me but will help the guy who knows his thing.
