1. Have you altered the individual pickup output control pots under the back panel ?
2. *bump* I'm not going to move on price as it's the lowest i'd go but please feel free to drop me a message about a potential trade
3.
So I assume from this People will lose subscriptions if they have them?
That may explain the persistant emails I receieved from them about my sub expiring. Got about 2 a week for a month I think (I didnt renew).
4. Thanks for the offer but am looking for an equivalent value/quality instrument as trade
5. Before this I had a 2002 Progress III Deluxe - and this sounds at heart very similar. Differing pickup types and positions of course meant some differences but you could hear the same tonal character from the pickups/EQ of both instruments. I know most people are skint at the moment (myself included !) but I thought i'd have had some more trade offers by now .
6.
That said, they have tightened up the photography now. At one time you got seemingly random shots of the Bass, now they seem to always show tight shots of the headstock, neck, body, bridge, rear neck joint and back.
I find they have over large pics instead of actual written content - and subsequent mini shots don't really show anything more than the main image does. There was on a couple of months ago of an amp, no pics of the back connections but about 4 of the control panel from slightly differing angles. The magazine does appear to be more commercial (more advertising i'm sure) than previously but that may be unavoidable for them to pay the bills. Incidentally - my subscription expired this months and I won't be renewing it - would rather pick it up from WHSmith and flick through to see if it's worth getting.
7. Manufacturers that 'relic instruments must know the trick to this one.
8.
It says "trade" so he doesn't need to put a price...Beautiful bass !
I may clarify those rules to say please put a trade value on. This should assist buyers and sellers by people only offering appropriately valued instruments to trade (to hopefully stop people offering their Squier Affinity P bass as a straight swap for someones Fodera) .
9. Yeah it ticks all the boxes for looks and the quality is right up there. Just not what im looking for tonally. Deep down i'm an all out rocker and this is far too refined for me .
10. Ah - important thing to note here. It was made by the luthier Ibanez before Hoshino Gakki took it over in 1929. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ibanez (quite an interesting history here).
11. Please note you must add a price to put this up for sale here.
12. Hi folks. Had 2 of these basses (1st one had defective lacquer and replaced under warranty) so this bass is only 2 months old. Utterly spotless mint and as new condition - hasn't left the house. This 'Tanglewater' is from the 3rd batch released and has more refined features than the original runs. In particular a gloss fingerboard, string tree and overall it's a better feel than the original (factory set action lower). This bass has a very modern and 'hifi' feel to it and despite it's Jazz looks it won't sound like a Fender (which could be a key requirement for someone !). Everything flat gives a reasonable 'all usage' but focused tone which cuts through. Neck pickup soloed rounds it out to a subtler sound (the most 'classic' sounding) but bridge on it's own is outright rude and great for in your face funk. The reason for me putting this up is i'm finding i'm not really utilising it and find I prefer old school sounding instruments - so trades for Fenders/old school basses are entertained (but ask me about anything - I may bite !). £450 collection (these are £630 new now) from Birmingham or postage can be arranged at extra cost £20 inc packaging). 13.
A work around is to right click on the thread you want to read and 'Open in new tab'. That way you just close the tab down when finished and your back at the original page
This. I never navigate away from the main index - just open a few new tabs on topics I want to read and close them when done.
14. I've had a couple of pints but no more. And that was in a 2+ hour period before the first set so i'd be 'sober' before starting. Once we're playing I stick to soft drinks to keep hydrated and remember the songs (90% successful )
15.
I would also question why you deem it necessary to go to all this trouble. If it's just a vanity thing (and you may have other reasons - see below) then seriously, I wouldn't bother devaluing your bass in this way. While this might be the last bass you ever own, as your sig says you own three already then I would guess your GAS won't stop here and there will come a time when you want to sell it.
On the contrary - I think even if people know it's not a Fender they won't be put off that the Squier logo is missing ! I know for the same price i'd rather have something that says Fender.
16.
I don't know if anybody's suggested this already, but what about a limit on bump frequency?
We already contact anyone that goes a bit OTT with their bumping even if they delete their previous bumps.
17. I'd be very surprised if TW wouldn't help you out. Have you tried contacting them directly ? I would also expect OW to show an interest rather than simply defer you.
18. Yes but not at the same scale. It wont save money realistically as you'll also need the neck pocket deepened. You'd be better of selling and getting what you really want.
