1. I went through a similar thing. I had a custom Overwater and a 300w rig that never left the house. I thought about trading the bass for 2 instruments and the head/cab for a practice combo (~100w). I decided to trade the Overwater and get 2 cheaper instruments but keep the amp. You never know when an opportunity will popup where you'll want that gear you just sold ! A few weeks after my decision I had a dep gig where I needed my 300w rig. As mentioned - you won't get a decent price for anything at the moment.
2. I may make it a new rule that you can't post about new stuff unless it includes pics of it. And I mean your own pics not googled ones.
3. Good - it saves me PMing you to put a price on .
4. Seen this vid ? Ed knows his stuff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lS0mQDmQzAs
5. It will gain awareness soon, then it's...
6. I had a BB614 a few years ago when they first came out - here's a pic of it in action ! I don't really remember why I sold it but it sounded killer on this gig.
7. The problem is that whatever Yamaha do - they just won't ever be as cool or desirable as Fender & Co. There's not many people out there that don't care what other people think and this unfortunately makes a big part of peoples decision on what to not buy.
8. I've bailed out - have a good time folks.
9.
or ask a friendly moderator
Not me then.
10. I think i've traded at least 6 instruments on here - some in person and some via post. Trust is something you need to establish with the buyer and you must use your judgement on whether to deal with that person or not (i've turned down trades with people I thought dodgy in the past).
11. Traded pending the meet/swap .
12. Runs like a dream for me on my Galaxy Nexus (using Chrome browser).
13. Bump. I'll even throw in some exclusive signed by me Basschat business cards (Ltd Ed !).
14.
32" to 34.25"
Since the E string is near enough standard scale, what benefits does the novax system offer on a 4 string bass ? I understand the practicality on 5/6 string Dingwalls and have played a few to attest to it working well there.
15. Sunday night bump. Here's a YouTube bid of a 4 string version being played with a pick - sounds quite gritty actually.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhXBE_NZscM&
16.
I wish I had the money for this. Got any other basses for sale?
Sorry no - i'm not a shop
17. I was unsure about poplar initially but I don't think it has any real effect on the sound, i'd say it's quite similar to alder tonally. And of course it could be used for metal - but if you don't like 34" 5 strings then it won't be for you.
18. I like them but I'd never get rid of all my conventional basses afterwards. I like variety.
19. Base all the way. A bass is a fish.
20. Ban impending unless pics appear sharpish.
21. Last bump for a while
22. This thread is 4 years old !
23. Have you altered the individual pickup output control pots under the back panel ?
