Mine was in 2006 in a band called Shattered Age (metal covers/originals). I had my Yamaha RBX775 into an Ashdown EB180 - didn't go too badly at all !

Same for me, i've been sent plenty of instrument up front as payments for trades, one even just to try to see if I liked it as I was unsure. In the end I didn't like it and sent it back, no complaints from the owner. Whilst this thread is good to see, it must be remembered not to become complaicent.

Sounds great can't wait for this again ! I don't have a sound as such, I like to change it to suit different types of music. But if I had to take one instrument as the 'do it all' then an L2000 is hard to beat.

Went to one where I had to show the guitarist how to turn their amp on then had to tune their guitar for them too .

Sounds like you'll have fun deciding what to go for ! I've had a UK Overwater in the past (Progress III Deluxe) and currently have a 'Tanglewater' Contemporary J (as per below) and both have been outstanding quality.

I've always only taken one (spaces issues) but for an upcoming dep gig i'm taking 2. Mostly for the chance of getting to play them live since i've had them months and they've not been used in anger yet. But also to be able to swap between sets and get a different sound as the sets do change quite significantly in style.

Those Supertone bridges aren't cheap - I looked at getting one for mine but sanity kicked in. I'm not going to pay out half the cost of an instrument just to upgrade the bridge Ignoring this design flaw (not manfacturing), I do enjoy playing it and it's looks and sound make up for the setup issues.

I think the hardest part with T-Birds is the setup. The 3 point bridge is a bit crappy and the saddles have no height adjustment making it troublesome to find a perfect balance, i'd imagine this is the same for Gibsons too. My Epiphone is my 'last' bass in terms of preference, but that doesn't mean it's underperforming. I think maybe get an Epiphone T-Bird and see if it works for you - you can always sell it on without losing too much (£50 or so) so it's not a costly experiment.

I bought some ER20s a few months ago and have yet to utilise them ! The Hearos I had were good for overall volume reduction but I couldnt understand a word people said in silence in them !

There is no limit on when this can be, Jan or Feb is perfectly feasible if we get people committed (in the attendance rather than psychological sense).

Thomastik flatwounds seem to be quite low tension - give them a go ? Not cheap, mind.
