1. Pick Bass is a great sound in the right situation. Love the sound of a muted P-bass. If anyone needs help to get started with their pick playing then check out this free tuition video:
 2. Hi there. Sorry been away so delay in replying to your post. Yes it’s me & I still have the P-bass for sale. Greg
 3. Hi, I am a Hertfordshire based professional bass guitar player and I offer lessons from my home in Berkhamsted . I teach all abilities and I very much focus the lessons on what you want to learn rather than just teaching a set course. I can improve your reading skills, technique, timing or simply get you up & running playing your favourite bass lines. I currently perform in a variety of different gigs listed below & I aim to pass on my experience of over 20 years of performing & teaching to you during our lessons. West End theatre shows including a long run on Jersey Boys and currently depping on Hamilton, Dreamgirls, Book Of Mormon, Kinky Boots, Mamma Mia & Everyone is Talking About Jamie(Music written by The Feeling). Function Bands An original Rock/Blues Band Live performances with different artists including recently a gig with Toyah Wilcox. Please get in touch if you wish to discuss having lessons with me. You can also see more information about me at: greghagger.co.uk Thanks Greg
 4. Hi Hanry Just noticed your post, sorry! I’ll pack it up, weigh it & post a photo tomorrow & give you more info. It does feel very similar size wise under the fingers as a traditional double bass. I did use it to practise my bowing but the strings currently on it are more suited to pizz. I’m sure more suitable strings for arco would work with this bass. ........ok so I have attached photos of the case with one of the photos showing relative size to an electric bass. The weight of the bass in the case is 7.8kg. I have done some research on the radius & it seems to me that it varies on a lot of upright basses. Some of them have a bevel edge for the E string which is a throwback to when the E strings were much larger. The Bassix feels very similar, radius wise to my double bass which is a modern bass.
 5. I have a set of La Bella Gut Double Bass Strings I am selling. I tried them & could not get on with gut strings. I also now need my 2nd bass strung with steel strings for arco practise so they are not needed anymore. The whole set is in good condition & has not really been used. I paid £345 for the set so grab yourself a bargain. This is the product description: The G and D strings are plain gut. The A and E are Silver Wound. They are an excellent choice for warm pizzicato tone with easy playability and comfortable feel. Please message me if you have any questions. Thanks Greg
 6. Lovely bass. Good luck selling it!
 7. I am selling my folding Bassix Electric Double Bass. It was handmade by Alan Hatswell & apart from the usual wear & tear it is in good condition. There is the odd small chip out of the body & a small chip out of the black body outline which you have to actually look very carefully to find. It folds up to just a fraction bigger than a normal bass guitar case & I will include the soft case & stand in the sale. The weight of the bass in it’s case is 7.8kg. The Bassix has a very lush mellow sound & is very easy to travel with. I brought it to practise with while I was away touring round the world. The controls give the bass a wide range of tone qualities while keeping that authentic upright sound. This is really the nearest you are going to get to a real double bass & is perfect for pizz & arco. It also has a very pleasing aesthetic look. Any questions then please message me. Many Thanks Greg
 8. Hi I am reluctantly selling my Fender 50th Anniversary Red Precision Bass with Rosewood fretboard. It is a beautiful example of a Fender P in good condition & has been well looked after. You will notice the serial number & sticker on the back of the headstock which you can use to check out authenticity on the Fender website. It plays very well & has that classic vintage P-bass thump. If you have any questions then please get in touch & I will get back to you. Happy for you to try it out & collect from me, & I will also post if you arrange the courier. Thanks Greg More Photos (these were taken in sunlight so the red has come out lighter but it is the same bass!!)

 12. This Bassix Electric Double Bass was hand built by Alan Hatswell & is an excellent example of his 'New Tech Skeletal' model. It folds up to just a tiny bit longer then a normal bass guitar case. It also comes with the stand. The Bassix has a very lush mellow sound & it is ideal to easy transport in the boot of the car or tour around with ease. The tone controls give a wide range of sounds & the bass is perfectly at ease for rock gigs Sting style or sitting in with a jazz trio or bigband. it also has a very pleasing aesthetic look. Must be seen & played to really appreciate this instrument. Visit Bassix's website for more information. http://www.bassix.net/

 17. How do i remove topics as i need to get rid of the ones i have in the wrong sections?!!!
Not strictly true. Many of the US Spectors have the EMG or Aguilar preamp. Some have the tonepump though... Also, the wood is of a higher grade on US Spectors (e.g 5A instead of 2 or 3A). Nowt wrong with Euros though... and it's all semantics.
18. Hi the back of the neck does have a gloss finish the same colour as the rest of the bass. Don't need an Epifani UL310 but worth the ask!!!! After an Ampeg Head though........
Mine is just under 10lbs I think, they are pretty heavy but I guess that's where some of that big old tone comes from Sorry - forgot to ask. Does the neck have a gloss finish - that's different from the US models? Don't suppose you need an Epifani UL310 by any chance, lol. . .
19. Hi just put the bass on the scales & it came out at 11lbs- don't know how accurate that is though? To be honest it isn't the lightest of basses but haven't had a problem gigging it myself.... I also looked at the US models when i got this bass & the price put me off as i couldn't justify spending double the amount!!!
Damn - I've been debating whether to go for a Euro or a US as a back up for my current US. Had pretty much decided on a Euro & this would have been perfect but I've just found a US up for sale as well so need to re-evaluate my choices! Of course the US is more than twice the price Do you know how much it weighs (bit of a traditional Spector problem for me is that they are often pretty heavy).
20. Cheers for the advice guys, dropped the price down if this is now of any interest......
IMO that's a great price. I only pay a teeny bit more than that for a brand new one on an endorsement deal! Only potential downside might be colour, but that's all opinion. If you lower it to £700 and someone doesn't snap your hand off then don't bother selling it if you don't have to!
21. Thanks man...
This is the best looking bass I have ever seen. Wish I had a spare £800 and I would snap this right up. Best of luck with the sale for a trully outstanding peice of vintage nostalgia
22. Interesting!
I have to say that this would stand a good chance of winning this auction. Welcome to BassChat by the way.
23. I'm open to offers.....
I quite fancy one of them but I'm not sure you'll get £800 with the current economic climate.
24. Spector Euro5 for sale £700. DROPPING THE PRICE TO £700 AS I HAVE MY EYE ON A JAZZ BASS I WANT & NEED MORE CASH!!! VERY REASONABLE PRICE! In good condition apart from a knock on the top of the headstock which you can see in the photo. It plays great & has some serious punch & low end. It has recently been set up. Lovely bass!! I'm selling it as I'm now using passive basses. Feel free to ask any questions
