I had totally forgotten that when we recorded a radio session in Los Angeles last March, our merch man wandered around during the session with my DSLR taking video....anyway i found the footage on my SD card the other night and cobbled together this video! [/quote] In a modern DAW you can make a 'groove map' from a varying tempo track and trigger drum samples from it - it's not really a problem anymore with modern software and confusers

In the analogue tape days it happened all the time. Often songs would be slowed down or sped up slightly at mix down thus rendering them 'out of tune'.....I know we've done it more than once back in the 80s It was often done for various reasons: 1) it sounded better that way 2) It covered up a timing error 3) It was easier for the vocalist to sing 'in tune' etc etc

We do it all the time. It's part of the writing process. if we didn't we'd never know what was played last time!

I picked up a brand new USA Sterling a few months ago. I ordered it unseen from USA as I wanted a 4HH MH and there were none in Europe. It is perfect

Sat in the office miles from my basses, the callouses are all i have to go by...all 4 fingers on my left hand have hard patches....never thought about which finger does what.

A friend of mine's husband is rhythm deaf - he can't tell the difference between 4 on the floor and a waltz!

I know of a bass player who tuned his G string a semitone out, just the G string...he played a song which used the 4th and 2nd frets of the G string a lot (as well as the other strings) and didn't even realise it was out of tune...got this story from his guitarist

Been there Done that Often mistaking the 7th fret for the 5th fret or vice versa

I've had Reason since ver 2.5.......stopped upgrading a few years ago due to their refusal to support VST/VSTI......wondering if it's worth revisiting?
