1. Are you getting paid for this? If so you'll need a P1 visa to be legal. Good luck with getting one of those. I got one but only after about 3 months and several £££ - before you can even apply for one you need to demonstrate to USCIS that you are an 'artist of international renown' and have a petition lodged by a US 'sponsor' approved by them. If you do it on an ESTA and get paid then you're breaking immigration law.
  2.
I'd avoid automatics.
that's what i was going to say
  3.
Fx pedals have the input and output on the wrong sides. Input should be on left, out on right.
Agreed 100%
  4. I have 5 basses and a spare loaded neck....and another bass on order... I have 2 heads : HA3500 and a Puma900 I have 2 cabs: Barefaced Supermidget and Super12T

  6.
Like the title says. Not bothered about condition.
What's a Squire? Is it a fake Squier?
  7.
From the couple of times I've returned items to Thomann, that seems a fair assessment. I got a satisfactory response from them, but I took care to be clear about what the issue was and what I was asking from them, and it does take a little time for the wheels to turn compared to smaller more specialised retailers. They can feel kind of impersonal and procedure-bound compared to a small retailer, but that personal touch you get from smaller businesses can sometimes be as much a curse as a blessing if the guy you're dealing with has an attitude problem!
I found Thomann to be very quick and efficient in agreeing to and organising a return - within a matter of minutes I had a prepaid post label. I returned one of these: https://www.thomann.de/gb/thomann_westerngitcase_12.htm after following the advice in the description of this: https://www.thomann.de/gb/fender_t_bucket_300ce_bass.htm that it fit it didn't- the span of the tuning heads is too wide for the case I see they still have the advice in the description despite my pointing out their error but the return was agreed and organised in a matter of minutes
  8.
That's a lead time of around 5 months from cutting to getting the records back from the pressing plant.
In the 80s we had around 2 months max from recording to having vinyl distributed - so 2 mths for mastering and production. Mind you, the record Co might have 'pre-booked a slot' .- I dunno... We put out a 12" earler this year - it took twice as long
  9. With so few operational pressing plants around these days the lead time is ridiculous compared to the way it used to be.

IME the necks are somewhat on the chunky side...some like that sort of thing
  11.
Sterling 4H inside (compensated) nut to front of pickup 74.8mm (to rear of pickup 79.7mm). All measurements +/- 1mm.
There's a whiff of spinal tap's stonehenge about those measurements
  12. How far do I crank it? As far as I need to to fit the mix.
  13.
You're going to look really stupid if nobody dies next year...
around 150,000 will die each and every day next year so unless we're suddenly all immortal your proposition is highly unlikely That said Death is not a statistical certainty....only around 93% of humans that have ever lived have also died.
  14.
6 months! Wow....it's also crazy to see the Sterling H at GAK (with upgraded natural finish) for so much cheaper due to the obvious....
yeah - I am 2 1/2 weeks in to my quoted 6 month wait and it already feels like too long. There don't seem to be many Sterling 4HH in the UK - I am grateful to a retailer who agreed to sell me one at a pre price rise price- that sort of makes the wait seem a little more bearable.
  15. guitar guitar in birmingham have a black one in stock http://www.guitargui...160620298818008 I am waiting for one, having ordered a 4HH - 6 month wait
  16. what happened to advent calendars with just pictures and zero calories?
  17. If I hadn't just ordered a new EBMM I'd be tempted by an olive and RW P....but IME 'narrow tall frets' often feel sharp on the edges...and why bother changing the P pickup? it's already perfect
  18.
Unfortunately the sound, bass in particular, was rubbish.
Agreed The acoustics of Wembley are utter pants
  19.
he then said oh I'm not the bassist I'm just giving it a go
Shag his mrs and excuse yourself by telling him you're just giving her a go
  20.
I needed some new flats anyway
When does one decide one needs new flats? Flats just sound better the older they get. One of my basses has some 20 year old flats on it - not planning on changing them any time soon
  21. 60% of the door plus expenses
  22.
My sister berated me for the wobbly legs thing at about 2.10 in this, rightly so, I might add: https://m.youtube.co...h?v=XUUn_5qNguo Not really sure what I was thinking...
Classy LOL
  23. I went to see The Cure again last night. Simon Gallup has the poses...he also skips about the stage in fits and starts....i have no idea how he manages to not miss a beat (other than the fact his basslines are simple)...the way he looks like he's trying to push his bass into the floor all the time impresses me. just saying
