1. Squier JV62 P is certainly more vintage than modern sounding. Mine is strung with dead flats and sounds very authentic
2. My Squier JV 62 P has a 1.75" nut
3. Band has existed for 37years (since 1980) 4/5 of current lineup been together last 32 years (since 1985) the other 1/5 joined in 2009
4. me - coz I'm me
5. I am hoping the EBMM USA Sterling 4HH that I have on order will finally end my gas........but somehow I doubt it will
6. I've never sold a bass, I gave one away once but I never regretted that: A superheavyweight Kay P from the early 80s
7.
I really don't think that anyone actually needs a watch to tell the time while they are on stage performing.
There seem to be a fair few venues these days with curfews (eg The Garage in Islington)....it's useful to know when the plug will be pulled
8. I always wear a watch - what's wrong with doing that? Don't want to leave my expensive watch where it might get nicked.
It's a lot more "playable" than a guitar or bass driven synth.
That's what's attracting me - the nuances that can be achieved - it seems to make the bass almost cello-esque....

Has anyone tried one of these? I'm curious AT $364 for the bass version (plus no doubt shipping, import duty and VAT) it seems a bit steep. How do you use them? How do the wheels spin? I know it's got a motor but i can't see how the motor drives the wheels (assuming it does)... the manual doesn't give much away: http://www.gizmotron...rev_C_small.pdf http://www.gizmotron...uy/gizmotron-20
11. For musician you need a P1/O1 visa Not easy, believe me - took me 3 mths & £000s....and even then only lasted 33days for me Need a sponsor stateside AND you need to demonstrate to USCIS that you are 'worthy' of a visa - ie you need to already be an 'artist of international renown' and that was last year...before trump contact Tamizdat and talk to them
12. I'm still waiting...about half way through my wait now....although the ETA has come forward to "end of April"..... Is this like buying a Morgan?
13. Anything by Bread or David Gates - all 100% cheese, all my guilty pleasure
14. ever heard a german girl trying to say "squirrel" ?
15. I am still waiting on my Sterling 4HH that I ordered before the price rise....ETA end of April now......this wait is long and painful.
16. I benefitted from an injured drummer...he got RSI in his wrist so could only play the less raucous songs ....
17. 80s misery pseudopsychedelic indie dirge guitar pop anyone??
18. Brain Salad Surgery - ELP I just do not get it
19. I hate the "if you can't say anything nice, say nothing at all" attitude that seems prevalent in these parts...i encorage people to speak their minds and/or grow thicker skins
20.
it could just be the photo but it looks to me like you need to remove the scratchplate to access the trussrod? please tell me that isnt the case!
Isn't that the normal fender way of doing things?
21. IMO any bass that shows the wood grain looks pants in any band. Leave the woodgrain for the coffee table.
22.
I think someone might need to explain the joke Clue: Google "20th January Washington".
I didn't read the thread properly...just trotted out my standard advice for those who think going to the states to gig is a simple matter....
23. Are you getting paid for this? If so you'll need a P1 visa to be legal. Good luck with getting one of those. I got one but only after about 3 months and several £££ - before you can even apply for one you need to demonstrate to USCIS that you are an 'artist of international renown' and have a petition lodged by a US 'sponsor' approved by them. If you do it on an ESTA and get paid then you're breaking immigration law.
24.
I'd avoid automatics.
that's what i was going to say
