1.
As an aside, can you plug these in whilst using them thus using it as a normal power supply?
yes you can I used a Volto on my nano but that's only got a BBE Optostomp and an analog chorus on it. With just those 2 pedals I can only expect around 5 hours use before needing a recharge.... I've now shelved the nano, expanded to a nano+, added a 12V high current pedal and gone back to my Trex chameleon...had to change the feet on the nano+ to accomodate it.
  2. I have smallish hands and have found (due to one of our songs requiring it) that practising a certain triad arpeggio all over the neck has helped my fretting hand 'stretch'. Try playing a I V IX V arpeggio and try to hold the chord....I can now just about do it with the I at the 4th fret - a few weeks ago it was impossible....any closer to the nut and I would need to be Stretch Fingerstrong...
  3. I fly with my bass regularly. I have tried A full flightcase - Pros : nigh on indestructible if the internal foam is cut properly your bass will be well supported Cons: Weight - a full flightcase is a pain to lug about A MonoM80 inside a SKB bass Safe Pros: Bass safe has wheels so can be dragged around airports. Much lighter than a flightcase you can use just the M80 gig bag at your destination, leaving the bass safe in the hotel or van Cons: M80 is a bloody tight fit inside a SKB bass safe The flightcase latch locks (old style) can come undone - even when padlocked(!) SKB iSeries case Pro's: Lighter than a full flightcase Seems as indestructible as a full flightcase It has wheels!! Waterproof Air pressure maintained internally Cons: Expensive I absolutely adore my SKB iSeries 3i-5014-44 and hope we are happy together for many flights to come I have absolutely no concerns about putting that in the hold.
  4.
I'll make you one. PM me your address, etc.
Oh thanks ...Pm incoming
  5.
Have you tried Effect Power Supplies?
Yes already tried
  6.
When you say short, how long overall?
6 inches/15cm would be ample. It is merely to take a straight plug on my Trex current doubler cable and 'convert' it to right angle. The connection between leads being concealed under the board and the right angle plugged into the pedal... The preferred alternative would be a current doubler with 3 right angle plugs
  7.
(though if you're new to early/mid 60s Fenders, you'll find the tuners seem to operate in reverse..!)
The correct way.....I fit reverse wind tuners to all my basses....the 'other way' is just totally illogical.
  8. Bought these in the end and they arrived next day! http://www.leadsdire...-set-of-6-30cm/ Now just got to find a short 2.1mm right angle male to straight female....ordered the ebay one but it's unlikely to turn up before Easter....and I've got a London gig and SXSW and a US tour before then! I bought a 1m one from the leads direct place but the only 2.1mm plug that'll fit in the female is the one on the other end of the lead!!!
  9. Got my P1 visa today.....the USA granted me the status of 'Internationally Recognized Alien' - I am free to go to the USA and get paid for having fun! Wooo Hoo!

    DIY Effects

I'd like to get into this pedal building malarkey...the only pedal i want at the moment is a more flexible compressor...with adjustable ratio, threshold, attack, release, input level and make up gain....so that's six knobs!!! is there a DIY project about on the web that's voiced for bass that covers this?

  12.
Rather than folding up a 1m cable under the board there are some shorter ones about! http://www.ebay.co.u...K-/131687406094
Great! Thanks!
  13.
You want to get yourself some right-angle power cables Twigman Si
You're not wrong.....Think I found some... http://www.leadsdirect.co.uk/shop/dc-2-1mm-leads-plug-to-plug-set-of-6-30cm/ Now there's only the problem of the current doubler....was thinking a folded up 2.1mm to right angle extension lead under the board to extend the current doubler....
  14.
The wear seems a bit strange to me but I can't quite put my finger on it.
By the top horn is a bit angular...like it's had a sticker or tape stuck on it that took the paint away when peeled off.
  15.
I concur !
Thirded
  16. Are there such things? Where do I get some? My Trex cables all have right angle one end and straight plug the other...
  17.
What's the khyber pass pedal Twigman?
It's a CE-2B clone [analogue chorus] that I got COG to make for me.
  18. A new toy arrived from a certain Mr Dave Hall yesterday and got added to my nano+ It now sits on taller feet to accomodate my Trex Chameleon. To be safe the DHA uses 2 outlets at 12VDC with a current doubler cable (green).
  19.
Have you got your permits and visas working in the US?
The I-129 has been approved....that was hard work. P1 Visa interviews booked,
