1.
It is the OP's problem because the agreed amount was in Pounds but he has paid in Euros without agreeing on an exchange rate beforehand. Compromising and splitting the difference somehow seem like the most sensible way to go.
I suspect the OP has paid the agreed amount in GBP but that the seller only has a bank account in his local currency. For the receiving bank to credit the seller with the cash they have to convert it. The seller should have stipulated an account that holds GBP if he wished to receive full value. I believe the OP has fulfilled his obligation in full but the seller has been naive in believing his bank will give him full value on conversion.
 2. Going to Portugal in a couple of weeks and managed to get that song not put in the set for those 2....
 3.
Do you have a second bass, 'pre-tuned', that you could rapidly swap to..? Just a suggestion.
Most of my gigs are overseas (apparently we're big in the Med!!) so i only take the one bass with me.
 4.
I gave it a try, and found that if I played as legato as possible but didn't try to hold hown the root note(but did hold the fifth and added 9), that as long as everything was smooth and even, then the root note not sustaining throughout wasn't a big deal
Yeah i played it like that the other night at rehearsal but Mr Guitard (who wrote this dismal ditty) was critical and insistent that i practice holding it down...he was watching my every move. I too thought it was OK to lose the root, especially once the guitar comes in.... but Mr Guitard can get a bit anal about these things at times. I might try the retuning idea but knowing my band they're not going to wait for me between songs..
 5.
Would there be any mileage in tuning the 'G' string to 'A' for this song..? That'll help the arpeggio stretch for the second chord. The 'D' could go up to 'E', too, so effectively tuning the bass specifically for those chords. Any help..?
retuning before and after a song, mid set....I don't think so
 6. I need to practice stretching my hand...how do I do this? Why? Well there's a song in our back catalogue which some bright spark has decided to add to the live set... It involves playing the following strings and frets with each group of 4 notes played arpeggio but holding each note, letting it ring to form a chord.A(0)A D2(E) G4( B ) D2(E) (easy enough) A4(C#) D6(G#) G8(Eb) D6(G#) (bugger that's a stretch), E4(G#) A6(Eb) D8(Bb) A6(Eb) (another stretch but somehow easier than the C#) E0(E) A2( B ) D4(F#) A2( B ) (aaah relief)...... here's the studio version It's far easier on a short scale bass than a 34" - sadly I only take a 34" to gigs. - I only own 34" basses I suppose the only answer to achieve that stretch 4-8 across 3 strings is to practice. I need bigger hands.
 7. OK so here's the thing..... i run a board from a t-rex Chameleon Specs here: http://www.t-rex-effects.com/fueltank-chameleon/ Currently it runs just a BBE Optostomp, a COG Custom Khyber Pass chorus and a Boss TU-3 tuner - so all low current draws. I am considering adding an EBS Valve Drive pedal to my rig. http://www.ebssweden.com/content/valvedriveDI.php which according to the specs page above draws 700mA.. Depending on where one looks the T-Rex Chameleon says it can supply either 300mA or 350mA per 9V output but there is provision for current doubling if you can find a current doubling cable...t-rex have them on their site: http://shop.t-rex-effects.com/collections/cables/products/green-current-doubler-cable I have had an e-mail exchange with a well known (on here) supplier of the EBS Valve Drive who states:
the EBS would be a great choice and should work with any good power supply unit.
I'm not so sure.... I know the EBS comes with its own PSU but I don't think its switchable to 110V and I hope to be going to US soon so it would need US leccy. So I was wondering if it could run off the Chameleon - I'm still non the wiser.... What say you?
 8.
My last cab could reproduce 10Hz
American was it?
 9.
This chap says it all (for the Queen of course)...
EXACTLY!
 10. ....almost feel like getting myself a short scale bass after adding a certain song to our live set...but is it worth it for 1 song? It's a song which requires a 4 fret stretch across 3 strings from the 4th fret up so it's C# (A4) up to G# up to Eb back to G# followed by (down a string) G# Eb Bb Eb played as an arpeggio but held with the strings ringing to build a chord....and my hand is too small to do it on a 34".....
 11.
Why do you spell color 'colour'? And it's not a boot, it's a trunk.
Spelling's a different matter....using a phrase in such a way that it means the exact opposite of what you want to say is just idiocy....unless of course you're trying to use sarcasm...but you weren't. I don't think i've met an American who can. Oh and i spell colour C O L O U R because that's the correct way to spell colour.
 12.
whereas women could care less.
They couldn't....why do Americans use this phrase? - it means the opposite of what they want to say.
 13. A COG custom replica of the old brown jap boss ce-2b
 14. Anyone know any sources for nitro that can be used in an airbrush...not rattle cans?
 15.
No, never have. It's something I want to change Blue
The question was: Do you listen to the Lyrics or the Music.? . So, if neither, what DO you listen to?
 16. Pedaltrain - The zip handle came off one of mine within the first 2 days. that was a PT Junior I have a Nano softcase that has been used for over a year now with no problems. They're not flimsy but not particularly padded either.....thick stiff canvas.
 17. Is there a way to de-gloss a high gloss poly finish without resorting to sanding?
 18. It doesn't seem to matter how much I 'baby' a bass it still ends up with chips and dings... I've ceased worrying about it. Then again I don't play super expensive basses.
 19.
I looked up the Ovni Labs review of the BBE unit. Apparently the new version (with moustache) is one to avoid.
Not tried it...mine is the old white, yellow and red one with the -15dB pad switch
 20. It amazes me that someone can buy a head like this and want rid of it so quickly. It was never going to sound modern. It's Mesa with design influences from the guy at genz who made the Streamliner.... It'd probably suit me but I'll stick with my puma while I hunt for suitable valve warmth from a pedal ( Eden glowplug? EBS valve drive?)...because it fits in my hand luggage easily and weighs nothing..
 21.
OK, I will: They are classified among Varanidae, are indigenous to Africa, Asia and Oceania. The largest example is the Komodo Dragon.
We had one to hand out the milk at break in primary school
 22.
That's my surname! I want one!
My surname is Gibson. I've never wanted one.
