1. They do exist allegedly: http://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?t=40953
 2.
Twigman - This guy is so full of it .............did you accidently miss off a couple of letters from the last word?
It was quite deliberate to defeat the language bot...
 3.
I have got or have had Fenders and Squiers from every production location they have ever used (including India and that one really did have an aroma of curry!).
When did Fender EVER have a factory in India...... This guy is so full of it
 4. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Unique-Road-Worn-Jazz-Bass-Guitar-Right-Handed-/262075394066?hash=item3d04e92812 Where do I start? Just look at the bridge saddles - I bet that intonates beautifully.......and it's supposed to have had a setup.
 5. I assume that's the bridge pickup rout.... And the neck pickup rout is what size?
 6. Feeler gauges work better than allen keys IMHO
 7. I answered a thread the other day in which I had expressed my dislike for the Gotoh 201 bridge as I found it impossible to get a nice action without shimming the neck. Some bright spark 'joked' that my action must be something like 1mm at the first fret, obviously thinking 1mm at the first was stupidly low. To me that seems sky high. Am I wrong? I generally setup as follows: Nut cut to fret height plus 0.1mm Relief (capo on 1 finger on 20 - yes I know I should use 16) a tad under 0.5mm at the 7th/8th Action 2mm at the 17th What setup measurements do you use?
 8. http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Ampeg-BA-210-V2-Combo-and-Free-Sterling-by-Music-Man-Sub-Ray-4-Black/1DOX?utm_source=benchmark&utm_medium=email-marketing&utm_campaign=email-250915#full-des get that Ampeg combo with the free Sterling. Bargain!
 9.
Your action must be like 1mm at the first fret lol.
I don't think it's quite that high tbh It's way lower than that. The nut is cut 0.1mm higher than the frets. The relief is a tad under 0.5mm at the 7th fret (capo on 1 finger on 20). The action is a tad under 2mm at the 17th
 10.
r and had a limited budget of about £350 or so, what would you get if you had a gig in a week or two?
a better job
 11.
Thank you. I take it that it also means it is a computer?
Probably
Sorry for being a pain again, but what does HTH mean?
Hope that Helps HTH

 14.
Gigging bass guitarists who only play other people's songs have taken the easy way out compared to the home musician who is trying to compose his own music and master recording, IMO. Churning through a 12 bar blues or an AC/DC number is a piece of piss compared to the inner workings of a DAW.
take it the step further.....sit at home in front of your DAW writing stuff.....take the recordings to band practice....get the rest of the band to play them....then gig them.... anything less is only doing half the job
 15. I could get these: http://www.allparts.uk.com/products/bridge-saddle-height-screws-for-bass-hex-head-metric-10mm but ideally i'd like ORIGINAL slotted screws. Allparts only do imperial slotted screws..... I vaguely remember the JV series were rumoured to be assembled using American hardware shipped over to japan...if this is true then my thread will be imperial, won't it? Does anyone know for sure?
 16. If it's American I'd say these: http://www.allparts.uk.com/products/bridge-saddle-height-screws-for-bass-or-t-guitar-slot-head-6-32-x-1-2-inch
 17. such a good question he asked it twice!

 19.
'WTF am I doing here' mid-song
That one happens at most gigs for me. Our gigs tend to mostly be in foreign parts playing to fans who know the songs as well as I do....which is a surreal experience and such a contrast to the day job.
 20.
Gotoh bridges the best value, imho. 201 or 203 (the latter is a heavier duty version of the BBOT). Nicely made and no sharp edges and the cheapfulness is gratifying. Of course, the Snake Oil Custom made from unobtainium is better...
I find the saddles on the 201 are way too fat and have to be on the deck to get anything remotely close to a nice action. I had to shim a neck after lowering the saddles to the deck on one bass and even then the action still felt a bit high. When the saddles are on the deck the adjustment screws stick up, are sharp and rip your right hand to shreds if, like me you often find yourself resting the outside of your hand on the bridge, I loathe the gotoh 201.
 21. I tried to setup my JV the other day. One small problem One of the 8 saddle height screws was so rusty that the screwdriver took the top off the screw - they're slotted rather than allen keys in true vintage style. Does anyone know whether the thread is imperial or metric and where I can source a replacement saddle height screw (or 2 or 3) ? It's a 1983/4 JV export 62 P with the threaded saddle bridge and slotted saddle height screws. Imperial or metrc thread?
 22. blow jobs - it's all about the blow jobs
 23. I see the poll has no option for Zero - there must be somebody here who doesn't have any at all mustn't there?
