1. One thing I'll add is in my experience higher quality basses are easier to play because they're easier to set up properly. Because they're easier to play it's easier to improve your technique and everyone's a winner.
2.
I wonder how many bands have bassists who play Squiers with Fender labels on the headstock.
For years and years I played a Squier with a Squier label on the headstock (albeit a JV) the budget bass of the early 80s. I've recorded albums with it. It's retired now. I don't have a branded bass these days as have built the basses I use from Warmoth and Status parts. I sort of have GAS for a Spector NS2 at the moment but I'm sure it will pass
3. Anyone on Sonar X2 tried W10 yet? Also got myriad VSTs which I need to know will work: ReFx Nexus ReFx vanguard Kontakt4 Superior Drummer 2 Melodyne Editor Battery3 Ampeg Svx Guitar Rig4 etc etc
4. gold hardware Coffee table finishes quilted/flamed tops any fancy wood actually natural finishes slab sided bodies - got to have a forearm and tummy cut a bass has 4 strings or less - more than 4 strings is wrong
5.
What does that prove?

Oh - and apparently they class themselves as musicians. Can anyone of you youngsters explain all of this to an old feller?
Just showing that some DJs actually ARE musicians
6.
I find that most bizarre and at the same time, very cool indeed.
Tony and I have been doing stuff together for 30 years! Long before A&B was even dreamed of.
7. Our guitarist is 1/3 of Above and Beyond. they headline lots of festivals (Glatonbury/Creamfields Ibiza etc etc) as DJs. All 3 of them are competent musicians and excellent producers. They earn their living DJing all over the world. They can do proper live music too as this performance of acoustic arrangements of their club songs demonstrates: https://www.youtube....-I&spfreload=10
8. Only string for me: d'Addario Half rounds ENR71 45-100....best of all worlds
9. I've got 3 Ps with jazz necks....my little hands prefer a jazz neck. I'm sure you'll have no problem moving it.
10. We are in discussions at the moment with a USA promoter with a view to doing an 8 date tour of USA next spring. I'm assuming I would need a P-1B visa to go. Have any of you ever had a P-1B USA visa? How painful is the process of getting one? How much is the process likely to cost? How long does it take? Am I correct in my assumption that this is the visa I need to tour USA?
11. I would like an amp that can run down to 2 ohms.......why are there so few available?

13.
I don't think it matters which bit of the pickup is on which side (Feel free to correct me anybody). 17. We do a lot of our writing by jamming. Someone might have a phrase or line, play it and the rest of us will join in then somebody else might have an idea for a bridge or a chorus and we'll build a song from there.
18. I use D'Addario Half Rounds....the zing of rounds with the feel of flats which can also sound like flats
19. Money by Pink Floyd.....all the talk of it being 7/8 in parts and 4/4 in others kinda put me off trying it....but it's piss easy....shame my drummer can't count.
