1. They both do the job. I just had an email from Alex about my post. When i first got the midget I accidently had a -15dB switch on one of my pedals and couldn't get any volume out of the midget. Now (having restored the input level cut - DOH!) on my shuttle9.2 with pre amp set gain 9 oclock Vol 3 oclock, to achieve simlar volumes the output is set 11oclock for the S12T and 3oclock on the super midget. This is the volume we rehearse at with a loud kit and loud guitar. I think that that tells me you need a lot of oomph to drive the midget. Admittedly the S12T is a 4ohm cab and the midget an 8 ohm - I'd expect to have to crank the head to achieve similar results but this is a powerful head and 3 oclock is a long way round the dial i have rehearsed with both cabs this week as we have a gig on Sunday (first in UK for 3 years!) and I was undecided which cab to take - so proper a/b testing done. The S12T gets the gig - the sound is richer and fuller than the midget. The midget is stilll very new and probably needs breaking in a little more. Having said all that I just want to point out that both cabs sound great to my ears. I wouldn't say i'm a barefaced fanboi, like some, but I liked the product so much I've bought 2 now..... I would be interested to discover how a double super midget rig sounds compared to my S12T - that would be interesting - any super midget owners wanna lend me one for an a/b back to back test?
2. Miidgets need a LOT of watts.well my new super midget does... I recently got a super midget so i could go to rehearsals in my GT86! What an extravagence. My GB Shuttle9.2 has to be cranked much higher to get the volume I get from my S12T. I fear if i'd had anything with fewer watts than the 9.2 (500W @ 8ohm) then the super midget would not achieve required volume
3.
We had a HA3500 for a while - it was great. Only reason we replaced it was because we got a Hiwatt DR205, which is heavy and cumbersome to carry around..! We still have the Hartke as a spare, of course. It's our 'lightweight' option.
Mine was in a wooden box.....compared to my Genz Benz Shuttle 9.2 it was big, heavy and awkward to carry!
4. I don't know any hartke haters. I had a HA3500 for a while - it was great. Only reason i replaced it was because it was so heavy and cumbersome to carry around.
5. d'Addario half rounds are the way to go - feel of flats but brighter
6. Is this still for sale? I already have one combined with a S12T - but am contemplating going for a 2 head rig!
7. not hard to tell which is which by looking at which is being played, is it?
8. Depends on the venue, the acoustics on stage, the supporting PA, if any.....too many variables to comment really.

11. just seen this thread - do I have time to do one?
12.
, as the Squier brand now is [snip] associated with cheapness!
Hasn't that ALWAYS been the case?
13.
One other thing, when intonating it, I had to take the saddles as far back as they would go to get it intonation right. Am I doing something wrong, or is this normal for a 35" scale?
it's fretless - what difference would it make?
14.
So all in all I'm very glad to be in an originals band, where the 'right' bassline is the one that I play.
That is knda what I was trying to say. I doubt if I play any bassline more than a few times the same way before it changes - as do most musicians in original bands. The 'original' is just what they happened to play that day - doesn't make it the 'best' or even match what they might have played the following week.
15.
Don't get obsessed with playing exactly the original bassline.
What is the original bassline? It is just the version of the bass line that was played when the track was recorded. My band's lines are in a constant state of evolution. I suspect this to be true of most bands. There is no right and wrong bassline..

17. Agreed I'd be annoyed if I'd been hunting this JV and some bleeding heart had filled in the seller so that it was withdrawn. why would you? What business is it of your's? Killjoy
18.
Can any of you fellow Genz head owners compare how much your power cable housings move when you take the power leads out?
Shuttle 9.2 here - doesn't move at all.
19. The neck has just arrived Crappy iPhone pic attached... let's get building
20. Tried the Bullet Cable out last night. It is superb. I expected it to feel really heavy but I don't even notice it's there...unlike the Fender Gold lead I've been using for the last couple of years which would get tangled in my feet or round my leg. I got the transparent 30foot coil and it looks ultra retro....the rest of the band asked if I was planning on joining a glam rock tribute band ha Ha
21. should've been a public poll does this forum do those?
22. Which box should I tick? x I've got one - it's a cab innit? it does what it says on the tin
