1.
Local (US) taxes and duties?
Nope UK import taxes and VAT I recently imported something from Musician's Friend and all UK VAT and import duty was prepaid. I was a little concerned at their lack of comms and posted a thread about it here. They hand the deal off to their International agents 'Borderfree' who actuallt ship it. It works - eventually.
 2. I have a friend with a Status neck on a jazz i think i'll ask to borrow that for a session or two first. I am confident that I should be able to do it myself. I know I'll need to drill and countersink the neck fixing holes...<top gear> how hard can it be? </top gear> and mount the tuners I have assembled 2 Warmoths before now, it can't be that much more difficult.
 3. I use a Zoom H1 in a mic stand in the middle of the room - It does an awesome job
 4. I am curently gassing for another 'build'.....I am thinking a very lightweight P but this time with a Status neck. At the moment it is purely aesthetic - I have never played a Statud graphite neck. Tell me about them. What do they feel like? What kind of profile do they have? What kind of sound do they make? Am I completely bonkers?
 5. my apostr'phe sems to be workin' again
 6. http://nypost.com/20...klyn-bloodshed/ I can't imagine why they would have sacked such a level headed fellow. Edit: OH WOW! MY Apostrophe works again!!!!!!!!!!!! # now for some serious abuse.
 7. so do i but i am not normally guilty of apostrophe abuse I just tried to type another and firefox refused - Not responding - had to crash close firefox then it gives me the how embarrassing dialogue before restoring basschat.....
 8. When I try to type an apostrophe in a reply to a thread firefox hangs....is this the way things should be?
 9.
I think how instruments feel is probably the most under-rated aspect of quality.
That is my number one criterion which is why I love my warmoth so much and leave my JV gathering dust
 10. It seems that someone in my band has given an interview in the next issue The Big Takeover magazine. I confess to not having heard of this rag. I see it is a US based rag....anyone know anything about it? I assume it's no Rolling Stone. I am curious as to who got interviewed (nobody has fessed up yet) and what they might have said! I assume this is not our big break stateside? http://www.bigtakeover.com/news/big-takeover-73-ex-smiths-guitarist-johnny-marr-cover-about-to-ship-subscribers-update-your-address-asap
 11.
Anymore reports?
I was waiting until it disharges before writing a review but after 2 4 hour sessions it still has 2 of the 3 charge indicator lights lit.....could be longer than I thought.
 12.
is one better than a dynamic microphone?
that depends what you are using them for
 13.
On the Four Front M-Track Quad is equipped with four inputs that provide the best results with any type of audio source. Each offers an XLR input and a balanced 1/4" input. The XLR input is designed to work with microphones or other Lo-Z sources. The phantom power switch delivers 48V to the XLR inputs for use with professional condenser microphones. The 1/4" input can be set to receive a line level signal, or switched to allow an electric guitar or bass to be plugged directly into the M-Track Quad. Individual gain knobs ensure the proper input level.
1/4" to 1/4" will work fine
 14.
Do yourselves a favour buy a Zoom H2 for recording rehearsals You dont need a desk you need to hear the sound you make in the room
I have a Zoom H1 for exactly that - stick it on mic stand in the middle of the room...it's amazing how many ideas would get lost if it wasn't for that
 15.
Ah. In that case...
Absolutely - recording audio with a midi interface is going to need a miracle of some sort.... I've often seen folk on the Sonar forum complain that they've recorded their midi but can't hear anything.....never heard of anyone trying to record audio through a midi interface though.
 16.
Are all DI's at mic level then?
No - often they are switchable
Why should line level be different from mic level?
Mic level is a much lower voltage than line level - it's something to do with the sensitivity of passive microphones and the voltage they can generate
 17. What amp are you using? Most mixers will take a 1/4" input at line level. Many DI outs on amps are switchable between mic and line level. XLR inputs on mixing desks are often fixed at mic level - some are switchable.
 18. I would recommend my rig: Genz Shuttle 9.2 plus Barefaced S12T Clear, punchy, LOUD, very lightweight Sadly mine is not for sale
 19.
Wonder if this girl knows/gives a s*** that a thread exists about her. I hope she doesnt give a s***
I'll post a link to it to her youtube channel
 20. I have a JV 62 precison. I have owned it from new. It hardly ever gets played anymore - I far prefer my yellow Warmoth P for playability. I really cannot see what all the fuss is about - it was a particularly cheap ( was it £129 or £149 I paid ? I can't remember) budget bass at the time. The story is that the JV series was better built than contemporary US Fenders - that may be so but early 80s Fenders were awful, so that wasn't hard, was it? I really ought to cash in while the going's good but despite its inflated 'value' that won't happen - we've been through too much together.
 21. We had every instrument from the orchestra available to try but none of those newfangled electric instruments
 22.
BTW Dweezil - ever heard of Pete Townshend and The Who in September 1964, Wealdstone?
Ha Ha yeah I spotted that too
 23.
... I'm absolutely ecstatic (seriously) to have received 3 votes from the BCers out there!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
I totally love your entry and have just played it LOUD on my system at home rather than the crappy office speakers that I used to judge the competition. Well done that was right up my street!
