1. Too loud you say? I am running a Shuttle 9.2 into a BF Super12T - That's 900W at 4ohms......and I still have plenty of control and the ability to turn it down.
 2.
a very clean set-up does expose any technical deficiencies in its owner's playing
A characteristic for which I am grateful. If it wasn't for the transparency of my setup I would be oblivious to the shortcomings of my technique and thus would not work to improve it. I think having a Barefaced cab has made me a (slightly) better player (albeit still a hamfisted amateur).....it has improved me.
 3.
Did you buy the Barefaced?
Had a Super12T for a few months yeah
 4.
And a Harley for the summer. ... And . . . well you get the idea.
Already got a Fireblade for the summer
 5.
I dare you to get a trailer made for that Porsche. Or a roof rack.
What Porsche? I am actually getting a GT86, not a Porsche
 6.
You're not buying the car to fit the cab?
I already have a car that fits the cab (Mazda6 estate) - but it bores me to tears - I like driving - I drive more than I play bass..... Was going to get a Porsche but there would've been NO WAY I could carry ANY cab in one of them....compromised with the GT86....a BB2 or SuperMidget or Super Compact will definitely fit....S12T I'm not so sure.
 7. I have an HA3500 in a wooden box. While being a great amp I found the fan very noisy and have changed it for a quieter fan. I also find that I have had to change the tube quite often as I find it gets noisy unless it is running s reasonably fresh tube. i was driving a BF S12T and the Master was up at 2 o'clock so could have been driving the amp quite hard. I have now got myself a GenzBenz Shuttle 9.2 and the HA3500 has been demoted to the subs bench.
 8. i think it will very much depend on how good the G3 cabs are. Using new bespoke drivers, there will obviously be differences. Are these drivers as reliable as the Emminence drivers from the G2? Time will tell. For now I am happy with my Super12T. That said I am still unsure as to whether I will be able to get it in the boot of my next car (Toyota GT86) which will probably come in November. At that time I might be looking at a BB2 or a Super Midget just so i can use my cab at rehearsals......but I hope I can continue to use my Super12T
 9. Warmoth Slim Taper Jazz neck with satin finish BOOTIFUL
 10. As of tomorrow a Genz Benz Shuttle 9.2 into a Barefaced S12T....not given this rig a blast yet....just bought the shuttle...waiting to see how it goes - am expecting L O U D
 11. I got hold of the new Placebo album today - am loving it!
 12. Just bought a Shuttle 9.2..................
 13.
sounding like you are the most unreasonable man ever.
What's so unreasonable about him? Seems sensible to me.
 14. never needed to 'save' for a bass - always had the cash sitting doing nothing. Basses are not a save up for kind of thing. Ferraris are a save up for kind of thing. Swimming pools are a save up for kind of thing. Pitts specials are a save up for kind of thing. Basses? Nahhh
 15.
if you're not buying a Roscoe bass and bergantino rig to play it through then you're wasting his time.
Totally different from the experiences I have had. I have been there twice. Neither time did I make an appointment. The first visit I bought a hipshot 3 string retainer. - probably one of the cheapest items in the shop. The second I bought a Mono gig bag. Both times Mark has had time for me. We chatted about lots of things music. He actually remembered me the second time from my first visit! He allowed me, without appointment, to try some amps and heads with my own bass. ...and didn't get upset when i didn't buy.
 16.
Is final payment over a month in advance acceptable in any transaction?
I paid for my Marshall fridge in full then waited 9 (yes NINE) months and 4 days for delivery....the supplier was constantly telling me it wou;d be delivered 'next month'... Never again

 18. I wanted one so built a Warmoth P bass body J bass neck with Warmoth's slim taper profile. Would not swap it for owt.
 19.
On the flip-side, isn't the process of getting your money back in a sort of small claims court type situation easier in the USA?
Nope it's much easier in UK IME
 20.
the query re venues, many have a house amp, and it`s usually a 100 watt combo of some sort.
Really? I have NEVER played a venue with house backline. A FOH PA yes nut never backline.
 21. Weird tapping technique jazz fella..... Check out the nut on his guitar. Has Mark D Phillips had his hands on it? Can someone explain why the nut on this guitar looks like it is cut so deep, why it stands so proud between the strings and what is it made of? it looks metallic to me.
 22. Lend it to a timelord who will take it back in time and have it gigged for 40 years and then have it left in a pre-arranged place for you to pick it up - an uncle's loft is a good choice.
