3. Going to make a trek to bass direct tomorrow afternoon and hopefully have a little play to see what is what
 4.
peavey vb3, pricey but lightweight and all valve, its the best thing i have heard througha s12t.
it's hardly 1 trip from the car portable though is it?
 5. The most important things are: You all like the same sort of music. You all get on with each other. You can rip the piss out of each other without someone's ego getting bruised. Ability and what gear you own is secondary, IMO, unless you can have a laugh together you will not last long.
 6.
So I will be selling my Genz in the next week or two, but that's not why i'd recommend it. I'd recommend it for you because its a good amp and it produces similar results to the Hartke. The only thing it won't do is 2 ohms, but trust me you won't need it with a Super12T!!
i think I will buy new whatever - I like the peace of mind of full warranty etc
 7.
Not sure what your definition of "light" is,
I would like to be able to make 1 trip to/from the car. Cab in one hand - I have heard this is possible with a S12T - bass in the other in a gig bag with the head in the pocket of the gig bag, pedal board in bag over shoulder.
 8. OK so I've posted a few which amp kind of threads lately. I'm at sixes and sevens over what I really want. My current head is a Hartke HA3500. I will shortly (I hope - waiting what feels like forever) be the owner of a BFB S12T. I had planned on running my HA3500 on it for a while but will probably want something more portable in time. I had toyed with the idea of going all tube but then I would not have the portability... In the past on my old Hartke cab I would run the EQ on the amp flat, the tube pre @ 3 o'clock and the SS pre at 9 o'clock. This would get me the tone I need, with it being adjusted on the East p-retro in the bass. So....I am now looking at possible replacements for the HA3500. I have decided it needs to be small and light - preferably able to be stowed in a gig bag Budget shouldn't be a problem - anything goes. The thing is I have very limited knowledge of how various amps actually sound. Some amps that some folk love, I hate - eg Marshall MB410 combo is horrible - can't get on with the one in our rehearsal rooms. I have looked at GB Shuttle 6.2/9.2 because it has similar architecture, I believe to the Hartke. Lots of people rave about Markbass....I used a CMD151P combo at a gig in Italy last year and couldn't get quite what I wanted from it, albeit I only had a short soundcheck. - but how do their SS heads sound compared with the Hartke? TC electronic heads seem to be popular but seem a bit HiFi and high tech to me. Aguilar - now I suppose it's probably a bit crunchier than the Hartke? GK - complete unknown to me.... I tried an Orange Terrorbass 500 in Berlin and struggled with that too. However my favourite tone ever was achieved through a very old Ampeg all valve head into an Ampeg 8x10 in Athens a few years back - I wanted that gig to last for ever!! So I will be driving a S12T and looking for a similar tone to my Hartke setup biased to the tube side of the pre. Ideally I would like an amp capable of driving a 2ohm load (but I realise these are rare) in case I want to double up my cabs in the future. What would you do if you were in this position?
 9. Fender Gold It's like the flex on an old iron. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/43343-fender-gold-bass-lead/
 10. Because I love it. Because I get paid to do it. Because I get to go away with my mates and play at being a rock star. Because it is an escape from normal life. Just because...
 11. I have one for my S12T but no S12T yet: [sharedmedia=core:attachments:131028]
 12. He made a replica of the Boss CE-2B chorus for me......and it turned out well. Recommend
 13. You need to be on a different ring main from the power to the lights.
 14. The dusty end of the fretboard shouldn't be a worry.....move higher than the ninth fret and you're playing the wrong instrument
 15. Damn - and here's me waiting what feels like forever for my new one.
 16.
I havent had a chance to download it, but I got the PM, and another one, which I also havent had a chance to downbload, I'll let you know when I have so you can get your cloudy space back for whatever else you might want it for...
No worries - I have plenty of space
 17.
Reacomp has sidechaining capabilities - actually it's all around one of the best vanilla get compressors out there - read the reaper manual on how to set it up, it's very well written IIRC...
I use the Sonitus suite [still DX I believe] that comes with Sonar....so easy to setup
 18.
I too am loving this track - definitely worrying!
Did you get my resubmission? I didn't see a reply to the PM yet....
 19. I was given an Ampeg 810 and an Ampeg Valve head (an old one - not sure of the model) when we played Gagarin205 in Athens in 2009 That rig was aural heaven for me , My tonal dreams came true
 20.
It seems to me that there must have been a lot of processing on the way in to the box on this one, so I don't have much to do. Turn everything up and it sounds good!
Most of my effort went into EQ (and other tricks) to bring the relevant instrument to the fore in the appropriate sections
I really don't like the sound of it and it's taken me ages of messing about to get a sound with a bit of "crack".
Me too - transient shaper...EQ....think I've just about got some thwack back into it .... I experimented a lot here with sidechained gates - everything is ducking everything else....HA HA it was fun!!
 21.
I dont really get the meter thing , sorry , I can level the volume to 0db on the meter and render it to wav , if I insert this wav to into a new project and K-meter it , it is at -16db , It sounds quiet to me , but I am unsure how to get to a definitive level now !!
My mixes are all quiet too...but we're all in the same boat I will be sending in a new one after me EQ mistake on mix1
 22.
,although the trussrod will be adjustable at the body end, the neck has no trussrod plug up at the headstock end. Usually aftermarket and Fender necks do.
Neither of my Warmoth necks do nor does my Squier JV neck
 23. My HA3500 has quite a hiss from the tube side of the pre....my tech at work has ordered a couple of new 12AX7s to try to see if one of them can quieten it down but I was wondering if sticking a noise gate on the effects loop of the amp might be the answer? The effects loop is post the pre-amp, isn't it? (not so sure about this) Anyone tried this to eliminate tube hiss? What drawbacks might there be?
 24. Good job, well done. Way outta my league...
 25.
Am I the only one who finds her really attractive? I do like an angry gurner.
nope
