1. I have them on both my Warmoths. I love them. Sorry but I don't know which fenders they are fitted to. I think it's the USA Vintage 62RI though
2. Will a Mono M80 fit inside SKB Bass Safe? I have bought a M80. It is dead light compared to my ABS full flight case. How did I carry that around for so long? I will still need to fly a bass regularly but would prefer to just use the M80 once I get to my destination. Mark @ Bass direct reckons I could fly with the M80 no problem but I think it needs a bit more protection so was wondering if a Mono M80 would fit inside an SKB Bass Safe case. Anyone know for sure?
3.
I`m really interested in the Mono Vertigo - looks like a winner, and fairly sure I`m going to end up with one, which of course means I am.
Was put off the vertigo by being unable to 'hide' the straps out the way - at least on the M80 you can unclip one end and tuck 'em into a pocket
4. Just got an M80 too Do you reckon you could fly with it?
5. Anyone flown with a Mono gig bag? I've just bought one. I have a full fitted flight case but it's so heavy I hate lugging it around. How will a Mono case survive in the hold?
6. Similarly London 1987 Brussels 2013: Keyboardist f***ed up the intro... Another example of slowed down Perhaps we're mellowing with age?
7. The internet throws up some strange things....like how we have changed in 26 years. First up, we recorded this at a live show in valencia in 1987 - we had a different keyboardist and sax player than today - the singer has only recently taken up sax-but apart from that all personnel is the same: Valencia1987: Followed by Brussels 2013 Song evolution at work Perhaps we took to much coke/amphetamines in the 80s????? and the Brussels guitar sounds out of tune to me.
8.
Or you are an originals band and you need to write interesting catchy material with input from everybody. That takes longer you know.
what he said. Weekly 4 hour rehearsals are the norm during the writing phase. 2 or 3 4 hour rehearsals prior to a gig (we rehearse up to 30 odd songs from our catalogue for each gig - we only play 20odd) We only gig half a dozen times a year though. if we gigging every week then we would only need rehearsals for writing.
9.
Just for giggles, I want to trying hooking my Kilo up to a S12 to see what the result would be
Bleeding ears?
10.
I wouldn't buy anything or even bother testing anything until you have your new cab. Gig it with the Hartke, then you'll actually have an accurate idea of what works and what can be improved and we can help advise you on the stuff to try.
Thanks Alex - won't stop me doing my homework but I wasn't going to shell out any more moolah until I 'need' to, which means after the cab.
11. My hartke HA3500 +VX1508 qith my John East loaded P flats and fingers - albeit Di'd into a PA too with some massive subs under the stage.:
12. To give you an idea of the noise I like to make The Ampeg valve + 8x10 gig....my favourite tone albeit this is filmed from the back of a large auditorium.....JV-P flats fingers My hartke HA3500 + VX1508 with my J/P flats and fingers. 13. Going to make a trek to bass direct tomorrow afternoon and hopefully have a little play to see what is what
14.
peavey vb3, pricey but lightweight and all valve, its the best thing i have heard througha s12t.
it's hardly 1 trip from the car portable though is it?
15. The most important things are: You all like the same sort of music. You all get on with each other. You can rip the piss out of each other without someone's ego getting bruised. Ability and what gear you own is secondary, IMO, unless you can have a laugh together you will not last long.
16.
So I will be selling my Genz in the next week or two, but that's not why i'd recommend it. I'd recommend it for you because its a good amp and it produces similar results to the Hartke. The only thing it won't do is 2 ohms, but trust me you won't need it with a Super12T!!
i think I will buy new whatever - I like the peace of mind of full warranty etc
17.
Not sure what your definition of "light" is,
I would like to be able to make 1 trip to/from the car. Cab in one hand - I have heard this is possible with a S12T - bass in the other in a gig bag with the head in the pocket of the gig bag, pedal board in bag over shoulder.
18. OK so I've posted a few which amp kind of threads lately. I'm at sixes and sevens over what I really want. My current head is a Hartke HA3500. I will shortly (I hope - waiting what feels like forever) be the owner of a BFB S12T. I had planned on running my HA3500 on it for a while but will probably want something more portable in time. I had toyed with the idea of going all tube but then I would not have the portability... In the past on my old Hartke cab I would run the EQ on the amp flat, the tube pre @ 3 o'clock and the SS pre at 9 o'clock. This would get me the tone I need, with it being adjusted on the East p-retro in the bass. So....I am now looking at possible replacements for the HA3500. I have decided it needs to be small and light - preferably able to be stowed in a gig bag Budget shouldn't be a problem - anything goes. The thing is I have very limited knowledge of how various amps actually sound. Some amps that some folk love, I hate - eg Marshall MB410 combo is horrible - can't get on with the one in our rehearsal rooms. I have looked at GB Shuttle 6.2/9.2 because it has similar architecture, I believe to the Hartke. Lots of people rave about Markbass....I used a CMD151P combo at a gig in Italy last year and couldn't get quite what I wanted from it, albeit I only had a short soundcheck. - but how do their SS heads sound compared with the Hartke? TC electronic heads seem to be popular but seem a bit HiFi and high tech to me. Aguilar - now I suppose it's probably a bit crunchier than the Hartke? GK - complete unknown to me.... I tried an Orange Terrorbass 500 in Berlin and struggled with that too. However my favourite tone ever was achieved through a very old Ampeg all valve head into an Ampeg 8x10 in Athens a few years back - I wanted that gig to last for ever!! So I will be driving a S12T and looking for a similar tone to my Hartke setup biased to the tube side of the pre. Ideally I would like an amp capable of driving a 2ohm load (but I realise these are rare) in case I want to double up my cabs in the future. What would you do if you were in this position?
19. Fender Gold It's like the flex on an old iron. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/43343-fender-gold-bass-lead/
20. Because I love it. Because I get paid to do it. Because I get to go away with my mates and play at being a rock star. Because it is an escape from normal life. Just because...
21. I have one for my S12T but no S12T yet: [sharedmedia=core:attachments:131028]
22. He made a replica of the Boss CE-2B chorus for me......and it turned out well. Recommend
23. You need to be on a different ring main from the power to the lights.
24. The dusty end of the fretboard shouldn't be a worry.....move higher than the ninth fret and you're playing the wrong instrument
25. Damn - and here's me waiting what feels like forever for my new one.
