1.
Each to their own and all that but I did have the misfortune of catching them at Glastonbury a few years back....
I doubt it. Joy Division ceased to be in May 1980.
2. I love Joy Division and the first 2 New Order albums - it all got a bit pop after that. Lyrically Ian Curtis was a genius IMO - I used to joke that I listened to Joy Division when I needed reassurance that there were others having a harder time than me. Unknown Pleasures was raw but promising then came Closer, an almost perfect album, a masterpiece. When Closer came out it was different, cold, disturbing music the like of which had never really been heard - like Neil Young brought into the post punk era... Joy Division have influenced so many acts that have followed that they probably don't have the same impact on someone listening to them now for the first time. Joy Division are, to me, the most important band to come from the post punk era.
3. 1993 Madrid might have been at the soundcheck The Snake Corps - I'm playing keys (sort of) I hink it's as good as the original
4.
My son has been using this - He did have a nightmare until the "D" Patch came out. All kinds of bugs and strange things going on. But it seems to be running ok now. The Pro Channel is neat, and he loves those four extra PC modules, especially the EQ one. Good stuff. Garry
X1C wasn't bad either tbh..... The biggest good news for me though is that Celemony have fixed the memory leak in Melodyne and after some pestering the techs there I got upgraded to melodyne2 for free!!! I am back in love with my DAW!
5. Sonar X1 producer edition is what I use - used all versions from Sonar5 onwards.....it comes in a cheaper flavour (Studio) and is simple and easy to learn. It's 64bit native too (which means projects can be huge - I now see 6-7Gb of RAM dedicated to projects regularly!) and was the first DAW to go 64bit... in the X1D release I have yet to suffer a crash! 6. REMIX in HD - can't get away from the repeat button
7. No Import taxes are levied at the EU border, not at the internal border.
8. Used flats for over 25years. Never had a breakage!
9. It's worth whatever someone might be prepared to pay for it. How does £8.40 sound?
10. Best websites ;if you're a bassist'? h the same as if you're not. You could start here amd follow links http://www.megaGIRAFFEPORN.com depemds what you like
11.
Absolutely not, but I mainly play pop, which is very simple and repetitive. Yes, that 3 songs have the same chords, in the same order, but where is the problem? The songs are still different and If you weren't musicians, you wouldn't tell. And I guess I'm not the only one that uses the same chords for differents songs, especially in pop-rock.
I apologise. It didn't do Status Quo any harm. Good luck with fulfilling your ambitions.
12. P = bully J = bullied The P is fat and in your face. The J is thin and weedy
13. Could you let me know where this was done? I want to do the same with giraffe hide!
14. I use XL chromes with my P-retro....works nicely.
15.
Indeed, but you still have to remove the scratchplate. Headstock is instant, so obvious, there must be another reason that my simpleton brain can't fathom.
If the truss rod notch was longer then you could access the rod with a tool without removing the scratchplate.
16.
Why did it take him decades to change the adjustment to the headstock, where it should always have been??
Alternatively why not make the truss rod notch in the scratchplate actually long enough so that the truss rod is accessible?.....the truss rod notch seems pointless if access to the rod is still impossible without disassembly.
17. I get my flightcases custom made at http://www.abscases.co.uk/ Fantastic quality - they'll see you right.
18. I have a Hartke VX1508 cab which I'd like to trade for an upright 2x12 if possible. Cash either way. What have you?
19. I have a BBOT on the JV P A Gotoh 201 on the P/J and a Babicz on the active P The BBOT is the most comfortable and easiest to mute! The Gotoh is very heavy and counterblances the Schaller machines effectively. because the base plate is so thick the saddles have to sit low (even with a shimmed neck) to get lowish action. thus I find the E string saddle is effectively full contact and is significantly louder than the other strings! The Babicz looks cool as but is featherweight - still undecided if the full contact nature of it effects tone - hooky6string tried it and said the sustain went on forever.....is that really a good thing? As for tone....it's hard to tell if there's any difference between each style of bridge as the basses are specced differently
20. I tend to look at the neck a lot. i always have and I find it takes some positive effort to look away and check out the audience, irrespective of how simple the line I'm playing might be - I tend to have a maniacal middle distance psycho stare when i do, mind. Often though, the lighting tech has little clue and I find myself in pitch blackness, often during the most complex fingerings in the set. Sometimes i wish for LED side dots

22.
(2 x 19") monitors
Don't use up valuable desk space for these....use an Ergotron arm to suspend them over the workspace - they're great.
