1. Could you let me know where this was done? I want to do the same with giraffe hide!
2. I use XL chromes with my P-retro....works nicely.
3.
Indeed, but you still have to remove the scratchplate. Headstock is instant, so obvious, there must be another reason that my simpleton brain can't fathom.
If the truss rod notch was longer then you could access the rod with a tool without removing the scratchplate.
4.
Why did it take him decades to change the adjustment to the headstock, where it should always have been??
Alternatively why not make the truss rod notch in the scratchplate actually long enough so that the truss rod is accessible?.....the truss rod notch seems pointless if access to the rod is still impossible without disassembly.
5. I get my flightcases custom made at http://www.abscases.co.uk/ Fantastic quality - they'll see you right.
6. I have a Hartke VX1508 cab which I'd like to trade for an upright 2x12 if possible. Cash either way. What have you?
7. I have a BBOT on the JV P A Gotoh 201 on the P/J and a Babicz on the active P The BBOT is the most comfortable and easiest to mute! The Gotoh is very heavy and counterblances the Schaller machines effectively. because the base plate is so thick the saddles have to sit low (even with a shimmed neck) to get lowish action. thus I find the E string saddle is effectively full contact and is significantly louder than the other strings! The Babicz looks cool as but is featherweight - still undecided if the full contact nature of it effects tone - hooky6string tried it and said the sustain went on forever.....is that really a good thing? As for tone....it's hard to tell if there's any difference between each style of bridge as the basses are specced differently
8. I tend to look at the neck a lot. i always have and I find it takes some positive effort to look away and check out the audience, irrespective of how simple the line I'm playing might be - I tend to have a maniacal middle distance psycho stare when i do, mind. Often though, the lighting tech has little clue and I find myself in pitch blackness, often during the most complex fingerings in the set. Sometimes i wish for LED side dots

10.
(2 x 19") monitors
Don't use up valuable desk space for these....use an Ergotron arm to suspend them over the workspace - they're great.
11. I built a Quik-Lok Desk from a Quik-Lok frame then various shelves and rack frames fitted onto it. It's 'modular' spec it yourself studio desk/rackware.
12. I think my cock's too big for this job.
13. DUPLICATE THREAD
14. I normally set up on the right side of the stage as viewed from the stage with, yes, the chance of headstock cymbal interface problems. We're a 5 piece: Singer in the middle Guitarist to his left. Keyboards to his right. Me behind the keyboards and beside the drums. I'd prefer the other side but as 'they' want those 3 across the front of the stage I am forced to lurk in the shadows and the guitarist gets his side of the stage so he doesn't encroach on the singer's arm flailing with his guitar neck. I normally have no space and no monitor...but often find myself closest to the dressing room.
15.
Is it possible to identify the actual model of a Fender bass from its serial number?
No Fender serials were issued by builders picking neckplates out of a parts bin. No record (AFAIK) was maintained of which models those were fitted to.
16. I have 6 of them. Can't stand Rush though.
17. Since Spotify added links to buy the music our record Co has at last allowed our stuff onto Spotify. Bizarrely we seem to have 2 listings with different albums in each listing. I am curious as to how the 'Artist Radio' selects which artists are played to the listener. This afternoon I have been testing this by playing Sad Lovers & Giants Artist Radio to see who Spotify line up. So far I've heard Danse Society /Red Lorry Yellow Lorry/ Section25/ MyDad is Dead / Eleven Pond / The Names These are not normally bands that we or our fans associate with our sound. How does Spotify decide what to stream? I always thought that it would be bands from the same genre with a similar sound. Which bands play when you listen to your own 'Artist Radio' ?
18.
To me,cramp is always associated with pain. There is no pain at all.
Cramp does not mean 'pain'. Cramp is merely the muscle contracting and not being able to be controlled. I often get my hand cramping with fingers pointing in wrong directions and am unable to straighten them....I also find that the little finger side of my palm, on the edge, will twist up too. There is no pain but it is cramp. Rubbing the forearm (it is generally muscles in the forearm that are cramping and this is manifesting itself through the immobility of the fingers) normally relieves it. I also have other problems with my right hand as for several years now I have been numb from the tip of my ring and little finger, all alonmg the back of my forearm to my elbow. This has reduced the grip strength in my right hand so much that I can no longer play with a pick! This was caused by nerve damage in my neck due to a slipped disc.
19. Cramp It happens to me often
20. This is my own page where I post demos I have made before the band get hold of them (although vocals are normally by Garce - the band's singer) : http://www.reverbnat...giantsiangibson and this is the band's page: http://www.reverbnat...loversandgiants and this is our singer's page: http://www.reverbnation.com/sadloversgiantsgarce
21. After listening to some criticism on other forums I have remixed In Ruins http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/song_13629897
22. Playing finger style is much like making love to a beautiful woman. Stroke the strings, tickle the strings, pretend the strings are the magic button. A sensitive touch goes a long way.
23. Last Sunday we played a 'gig' in our rehearsal room: among others...
