1. Alder body rosewood board and Fender 'original' P-Bass pup rather than the axesrus pup
 2.
The IP address you are using is on a spam black list. The proxy host we now use will automatically challenge blacklisted IP addresses to make sure it's not being used by a bot. In a way the proxy is learning as it goes. I suggest you unplug your modem for 30+ minutes to see if you can acquire a different IP address.
Err I am on my company's network. We are on a fixed IP address.
 3. Every few clicks I see a screen which asks me to type in some letters/numbers, you know the verify you are human type screens. According to Sophos my machine is clean. I can't even post a screenshot as an attachemnt. And linking to an image hosted elsewhere tells me that this community does not allow jpg please make it stop It is making this site a total PITA to use.
 4.
The 2nd was a girl who watched the 1st pack his stuff away, then when he had gone asked "where are the keyboards from me to play then ?" She really thought we would provide her with keyboards, she didn't even own any keyboards herself (although she could play) Looking back I think it is funny !!!
Is that really that unreasonable? My band has a very defined keyboard sound. The sounds are all generated on a very specific '80s keyboard, saved in a library which we can take to fly aways on a memory card specific to that make and model keyboard.[which is provided in the tech rider - if it isn't we're screwed]. It is extremely unlikely that anyone would own the keyboard we need them to use and the band has our own.
 5. No way - I'm pants. been playing over 30 years and am distinctly average
 6. I gave mine away. It was a Kay p-bass 2TSB with maple board and a neck like a baseball bat....it weighed close to a ton...glad to see the back of it
 7. Led Zep - Black Dog I just had to be able to do that...
 8. This Warmoth body is gonna get a Babicz chrome bridge anyway - it'll prob be better but I would've loved it to have bright nickel hardware...
 9.
wait, what?

Additional mass creates more punch.
35% weight reduction since the original 2TEK Bridge design in the 90's

They used to be made on a planet with higher gravity than earth.
 10.
Crikey! Er... I assume it's bolted on at the back and goes through the body..?
correct
 11. http://www.warmoth.c...TekBridges.aspx I ordered a body from Warmoth which is due to arrive on Monday....and I so wish they'd launched these 2TEK bridges and offered the routs before I'd ordered. I've been looking for a trick bright nickel bridge for ages and this would've fitted the bill perfectly.... PANTS!
 12. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Sad-Lovers-Giants/104860292879894 We're at 1432 we were at 1436 the other day, don't know what's going on - We're desperate to get >1,000,000 - only 998,568 to go....
 13.

Thanks for posting this. I have just bought the exact same tuners [Fender Vintage RI reverse nickel] for my next Warmoth and noticed how the folded metal stuck out the back of the tuner plate and was wondering how to overcome this obstacle....I couldn't find anything anywhere else on the interweb about this!! Until you posted this I had assumed they would just press into the wood! I was trying to imagine how many screws I'd break attempting to apply the appropriate torque!! Now to source an appropriate countersinking bit and find a drill press I can borrow...... I was contemplating dismantling my JV to discover how that had been assembled. Beginning to think I maybe should have just bought a set of Schallers instead......
 14.
How do you choose new songs for the set?
We write them
 15.
Thirdly, I agree with the principle of charging more tax the more miles you drive.
Fuel tax effectively does that already.
 16. black boxes - never gonna happen
 17. I have never understood the attraction of relics or roadworn - the artificially worn basses look just that: artificially worn. I have a 30odd year old bass that's played loads of gigs and been bashed around a fair bit and it doesn't come close to looking as shagged out as some of the new roadworn/relics....
 18.
Acetone won't dissolve metal. Any anything that would dissolve metal will dissolve most metals faster than it would chrome, so either it eats the whoel bridge, or none of it. It cites a source for it that talks about using bleach to dechrome plastic.
yeah I spoteed that later..... Gonna find a local plater and take it along and see what they say
 19. Think I might get a quote from these guys.....to strip the chrome then nickel plate http://www.ashfordchroming.com/dechroming will report back...
 20.
It will probably work if it's chrome-effect paint like you'd get on plastic. But not on proper electroplating
Hmmm i suspect it's proper plating..... Could I nickel plate over the chrome plate?
 21.
So I probably haven't been very helpful, sorry! But having thought about it I am also sceptical that an organic solvent like acetone would dissolve chrome (or nickel) plating. In fact I'm pretty sure I've used acetone to clean hardware before without dissolving anything other than the grease I wanted to get rid of.
So I shouldn't be believing this?: http://www.ehow.co.uk/how_7614546_remove-chrome-nickel-plating.html
 22.
Maybe easier just to trade with someone who has a nickel version?
I contacted the manufacturer. They have never made a nickel version.
