+1 I have a massive head and most places that sell hats only go up to about 60cm which won't fit me comfortably.
I'm 61cm XL, you just have to look a bit harder, but they are out there. Be carefull of Bailey hats though, a lot of their styles are smaller than the label size!

Ooh, hats, lovely! These two beauties came from Jill Corbett in Brighton, made to measure, and worn most of the time now, to keep the ever increasing baldy bits toasty.

Hi all, We're playing in the Exeter suite after tonights game with Bath. Any of you South West boys (or girls!) going to the match, do come and say hi

It's a shame that active is a no-no for you. I bought a fantastic American Jazz deluxe from bcbass last year, to use whilst my Pedulla had an ongoing problem that no one seemed to be able to sort, and it is still my bass of choice for most gigs now. You still get all the old school tone but with so much more besides. Oh, and it looks sooo good in candy tangerine!

I've recently been regretting this one going since seeing a very cool picture of Klaus Voormann with one. This is a 2005/6 (memory is hazy) CIJ Blue Flower 54 RI. Again I believe this is still on Basschat although has again been sold on since I sold it.
Indeed it is still on here, although I think it's had at least 2 owners since your good self, before coming to me! It now has a Seymour Duncan quarter pounder fitted and some very bling peacock blue DR strings, is much loved and used everytime we go busking, as it gets loads of attention.

I've some DR black beautys on my Pedulla Rapture fretless, look great, nice to play, and loads of cowey mooey mwah!

Hugh Manson in Devon would be worth a call, or how about Steed basses, Wes is very good. I have basses built by both these guys and can't fault them. I've owned my Manson for longer than I care to remember!

Very very sad news, my deepest condolences to all his family and friends.
Great looking bass - nice work Wes! No spare spondoolies at present though (looking to raisemoney me'self from sales )
Too late now anyway Clarky! It arrived today and it really is the mutts nuts. Fantastic sound, feels right as soon as you pick it up, and looks the business. Had a quick go through my Barefaced T'vintage and SWR working pro 700 and I can't wait to get out and gig it, lovely vintage tone, but also enough trebly top if you need it to cut through, and with my band you need everything you can get! Only problem is Mrs P has now taken it away, as she bought it for my birthday, and thats not till early Jan. DOH! If any of you are after a good Vintage reproduction Wes is the man, the build quality and finish on this is fantastic, I really can't fault it. Nice one Wes, thanks again
Bass now sold!! Thanks for all of the lovely comments people!
And soon to be winging its way to Porkpie towers, lovely! Mrs P very kindly thought this would be a nice birthday pressie, though I'm going to have to wait till early Jan before I get me mitts on it, DOH! I think I'll be allowed to try it when it arrives though, and it's a great incentive to get out booking the gigs for next year. She's a diamond, my missus! Cheers Wes. -
I would ship it its obviously large but not massively heavy, would you not prefer to arrange a courier? Or know the cheapest method to do it and I'll get a price?
I'm not going to be much help here, never had to ship anything that large! Maybe someone else on here can advise? I take it it's all working ok, no issues with the speaker, bearing in mind it's age?
Hi, I bought a Fender Jazz Deluxe in LA 3 years ago, now I am thinking of selling, it's in a hard case of course. Any ideas how much it's worth? As far as I can tell they cost new about £1300. My wife wants a new kitchen and I'm skint.
I bought bcbass's candy tangerine jazz deluxe at the end of April, and it's absolutely fantastic. I havn't gigged anything else since, even considering selling my fretted Pedulla Rapture as a result. If yours is half as good it will make someone very happy. pm me if you want to know what I paid.

Hey Tom, sorry to hear of your troubles. Not in the market for anything at the moment, but I bought a bass from Tom early this year, and to anyone thinking of buying, go ahead with confidence. He's a top bloke to deal with and in my experience very straight with all the detail and description on his basses. Good luck with these sales geez.

I bought Andys Boss TU2, arrived next day in excellent condition. Good communications too. Deal with Andy with confidence guys, top bloke. Neil
Noirbass aka Chris has just had an Ashbory off me - smooth transaction, good communications and payment as scheduled.
At the risk of being repetitive, Chris has just had an Ashbory off of me! All very easily sorted. Top bloke to deal with. Hope you get on ok with it Chris, and a pleasure doing business with you

What would be a realistic offer for this? and how much will the shipping/tax be likely to the uk? Thanks in advance
Have a look at http://classicandcoolguitars.co.uk He had two of these for sale the last time I looked at his site. I bought my P bass from here and am very pleased with it. Thorough and accurate descriptions and good photos, and if you're near enough you can make an appointment to go try them. No import duty either!
Thanks porkpie, I will if I ever down there. I agree the jap flower bass was great in terms of weight but Ann didn't fancy standing next to me or being associated with me using it. (I've been asked to dep with my 16yr olds band tonight. I guess I can't be that uncool after all, but the flower bass is getting its debut, after all I'm now at an age when it's my job to be an embarressment to teenagers whenever possible. Ah sweet revenge!) My chiropractor advised not just strengthening excersises, but to look at and address any possible causes of back probs aswell, so lighter gear has also had to be a consideration.

Hi Tom, I'm a big Pedulla fan, my main gigging basses, a fretted and fretless Rapture, both 4 string, Jazz type pickups, ultra slim necks, lightwieght and small body, a joy to do a 2hr plus gig with. I also have to consider my back, especially as we can be gigging up to 6/7 times a month when its busy, and I have no more probs with these basses. Also for some reason they don't seem to hold their value well, and you will probably be able to find one within your budget second hand, though you may have to be patient. If you're ever down in Devon give me a shout, you're more than welcome to pop in and try mine! That 54 re-issue P you sold me is pretty light too! Good luck in your search

Cheers for the replies guys, Protium; yes they all went at the bridge, but on two different basses, I think one had old strings which could account for it, grabbed it at the last minute as my regular fretted bass has an electrical fault. The other is a 3 month old fretless Pedulla Rapture wiyh Pedulla strings, set up both by Mike and then at Mansons. I am assuming the strings may be a duff set, changed the lot now and no probs at the last two gigs with it. thisnameistaken; SWR 700 through newly acquired Barefaced T'Vintage, which IMHO is an awesome piece of kit, not only sounds fantastic whatever I play through it, but ultra light and V tough, and extremely loud! Huwberry; Perhaps its more to do with with everyday stresses spilling over into my gigging and getting a little over enthusiastic! Until last week its been years since breaking anything!
