  1. Hey. I really liked it. The neck was a gem to play. I think my wrist prefers 70’s profile pbass necks that are deep but slightly narrower in width. It was interesting as the pick-up poles was black never seen that before. I presume they are stock pick ups. I tried an another 70’s ash body maple neck pbass. I think the other one’s pick up had a tad more character. I was able to get the paul Jackson finger funk tone better. gutted that I injured my fretting hand so deciding which one is on hold atm sadly.
  2. I find them to be cool. I last went about a month ago to try the 1980 precision bass. I always stay for a while and just chat lol.
  3. Wow!!!!! what a collection. I only knew sting playing a 51 p. Lots of learning to do lol i love the look also. I’m a massive fan of paul Jackson. During his time with herbie Hancock he used a fender p ash body maple neck for live shows. The colour was mocha. I actually went i to town and played a 1978 mocha p bass. It was AMAZING but it was 3.5k🙈. I love the sound of ash body with a maple neck. Suits my finger funk style. I admire your collection. If you do see any please do pm me.
  4. I wasn’t playing bass back when this bass came out. This is exactly the bass I’m after. Ash body maple neck. Near impossible to find. I was gonna ask if you don’t play it I would take it off your hands. I then read it’s your main bass lmao you lucky bugger lool
  5. Hey mate. Beautiful bass!! What is the body ash or alder?
  6. Hey. That’s weird I looked on around four guides which was all the same. this is interesting I’ll dig more. https://reverb.com/uk/news/how-to-date-a-fender https://support.fender.com/en-us/knowledgebase/article/KA-01874 https://www.andybaxterbass.com/blogs/news/fender-serial-number-guide I could show more but all show the same. I don’t have experience in this. I just wanted peoples input before I decide to buy
  7. Hey, I should have said written. Here are some pics of what I was talking about. everything seems legit tbh. Loads of pictures of pots, underneath of pick ups etc.
  8. Hi peeps, hope all is well. I have a bass I am interested in purchasing. A Fender MIJ P bass. On the base of the neck it's stamped with the year 89 (1989), and the serial number at the back of the neck starts with E. When I looked up the serial number everywhere, it showed E serial number basses are made between 1984-1987. Is this normal? I would have thought it probably would have been the other way around. stamp on the base of the neck earlier date and serial number later. Cheers
  9. great example and detailed listing. If this was a P bass I would be VERY interested. Good luck on the sale! also nice playing. I wonder what amp you was playing it through.
  10. This is interesting as below 75 models the bodies are basswood. That to me doesn’t look like basswood. Also models lower than 80 have non spiral bridges and smaller tuners ( gap between timber is noticeable) if it feels great to you, which it sounds then it doesn’t really matter right?
  11. Hey mate. What a lovely bass. I’m a fan of anything Japanese lol. On the bass. Looking through the Japanese catalogues. You had a top tier model which end mostly in 95 (PB57-95). And a model just lower ending 75 (PB57-75). This represented how much they cost. Both had large tuners. the top tier would have us electronics and pick ups. Some also a nitro finish. Basses which have been well kept still has the circular sticker at the back of the headstock regarding the model number. The PB57-75 didn’t have us pick ups. I’ll copy the catalog of the year of this back in here. https://brochures.yokochou.com/guitar-and-amp/fenderjapan/1985/en_index.html not sure how to tell if the pick ups are us made. funny how I have gathered this info solely on trying to source a top tier MIJ bass lol. Had no clue before
  12. Oh. I wish got into bass the level I am now years ago. I missed out on all the gems at an amazing price. glad you like the pick ups. I’ve never tried them before
  13. Lovely. I tried a 1980 p fender P bass. The neck was beautiful. How come you changed the pick ups?
  14. You are right these pick ups are rather hot. Appreciate the reading of the pick ups. Helps out possible buyers a lot
  15. Nice purchase. I purchased a rosewood neck version. You are right the neck is really comfortable. I’ve learn’t that i slightly prefer tha 70,s B profile neck. I wouldn’t complain about this neck though is really nice.
  16. wasn’t the intention. Just wanted recent input. Wasn’t saying he was rude in the slightest as my physical experience with him was positive. sometimes the intention gets lost in these threads.
  17. Cheers for the input I went there some time ago. Just after lock down. He had some gems.
  18. That’s completely fine regarding you not able to accept visitors. I stated you wasn’t being rude or blunt. It was just very “awkward”. As I haven’t purchased from you before I wanted experience from the bass community. I’ll be buying blind frankly. I am not sure what you mean by the anonymous link. I just sent a link of the pb70 I was interested in purchasing.
  19. Yes I get that. When I called he said he wasn’t feel great. I suggested I’ll follow up in a couple weeks. When I called today I reminded him that I called and he wasn’t in the best of health. I have empathy and I fully get if someone isn’t well. Like I stated, when I went he was a friendly welcoming person. Even on the phone he wasn’t being rude at all it was just “awkward”. This isn’t a bashing thread not my vibe or energy. I just wanted input from the community.
  20. He has so many lovely MIJ basses. I’m interested in people recent experiences also.
  21. Hi everyone, hope you are good. I wanted to know if anyone has bought from FenderFever in London UK? I am confused about my latest experience. I am interested in trying and purchasing a Fender PB70 MIJ 1991 ash body maple neck. I called a couple of weeks ago and asked if I would be able to come down and try some basses i am interested in purchasing. For reference, I had been to his workshop before. i tried many basses and he was extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. He told me that i could only try for 10 mins, the basses are not set up, his workshop is small and his feeling unwell. I told him i have been to his workshop before and he was fine with it. I suggested i call back in a couple weeks. he agreed I call again today. He has sold the other PB70 but still has one left. I ask if the PB70 is still available. He tells me it is not available. I ask has it been sold he says no. He is acting very very awkward. I tell him i am interested in purchasing the bass but want to try it as the description of the bass isn't very detailed. He responds with "you can order it online and i can ship it to you. I have written a detailed description and put loads of pictures." I just told him to forget it as this isn't going anywhere. So i ask has any bought from him or been to his workshop in palmers green? here is the bass: https://www.fenderfever.com/bass/fender-pb-70-precision-bass-reissue---natural---1991---mij
  22. Nice. it’s going to age well with the nitro finish. what made you pick alder over ash?
  23. Really nice. I love the colour combo. alder body?
  24. The price difference is massive. I went to wunjo guitars in Denmark street London to try the fender MIJ international colour p bass and it’s close to double the price compared to this site!!! Even with adding tax it’s much cheater. The heritage line is under a 1000 pounds which is basically the Japanese top vintage spec. Drastically cheaper than the vintage II American made. thanks for sharing this
