  1. Bongo price seems average at best. I had a Bongo 6 almost exactly the same as this one, I paid £740 for it and sold it a year or so later for £800. To me anything north of £1000 for a Bongo is too much!
  2. By the decree of the wife, this one wins. @Bassassin, PM me your address good sir, and I shall send you something awful for your troubles! You like 'alive' things right...? (Disclaimer, item will not be alive)
  3. I think it's time to close this thread and find a winner! Ironically, the two posts with the most 'likes' are those of quite uninteresting basses! I have no idea how to create a poll, anyone know? If not, I'll just select my personal favourite and send the winner a very much uninteresting prize!
  4. Well, at £500 it's probably about as cheap as you'll find one! I have a Sei 6 fretless for a short time with the light wave optical pickups, unique but great sound.
  5. Your bass appears to have some holes in it... it's ok though, I'll take it off you're hands instead of you throwing it away. 😉
  6. Out of interest, what's valves, and how many of them does this beast run?
  7. @andybassdoyle, I'd fancy this back if you're interested in trades...
  8. The same can be said for so many of us that have 'collections' of instruments. No, I can't play 27 basses at once, but it's more than playing them for me. It's the thrill of the chase of a rare and exciting bass, it's having been able to play some of the very best instruments out there by trading up, selling on, switching around etc. I've forged a few good friendships out of it too with like minded people who enjoy trading and being able to sample other crazy instruments! It's all good fun! I absolutely agree it's not 'needed', but it's something I very much enjoy! I do love playing them in turn, but I also get a lot of satisfaction out of them all as displayed pieces of art and from building a collection. Keeps me out of trouble!
  9. Quick answer... no where. I like gear, I like chopping and changing and playing with various amps etc. so when this rig came up on GuitarGuitar brand new and with close to 60% off, I sold my existing amp and one bass and bought it. Used it at practice prior to lockdown and it genuinely sounds incredible, so I stand by my choice! A tad unecessary? Yes. Do I care? Nope.
  10. If this was a 6 string, I would have hired a team of expert hitmen to take you out, make it look like an accident that involved this bass going missing, and have the bass delivered to me secretly. Count yourself lucky this is a 5 string sir... but still, watch your back... 😎
  11. Another +1 for ACG basses here. I've had maybe 6 over the years and recently had a custom 6 ACG made, it is simply stunning. Alan does exceptional work. Having owned more or less one of every boutique bass over the years, Alan's work is right at the very top of the list for quality, playability, sound, everything. You may find different basses, but you won't find better.
  12. Slap hates you, it told me so.
  13. You make him sound like a fluffer! 😂
  14. ACG 6 Salace, no question.
  15. Miss this bass, a really great beast! Shame I know that fretless really isn't for me. A superb beast none the less.
  16. Looks like an NS Design Omni Bass 5 to me!
  17. In 6 months time we'll all be living in caves or branch shacks... got mine sorted.
  18. The guy looks almost exactly the same as Saul Rubinek (Donny from Fraiser).
  19. So Hedge Fund/Gibson Board are 'D¡cks', Gibson Management/Workforce are 'not' and Gibson Dealers as well as Gibson owners and their Gibsons are also 'D¡cks'... harsh sir, very harsh... Although I have owned several Gibsons and I am a d¡ck, so you may have a point. 🤔
