  1. Reckon I can bodge one together for you for say 4k? You'll save 2k and you'll be supporting the 'Give Russ loadsa your cash' fund.
  2. I'm leaning in the direction of not letting the bass go if PayPal is the only way the buyer can pay and they want to collect. My gut tells me there would be no issue, but its a lot of money and would be a massive kick in the teeth of I lost the bass and the cash. I'll have a ponder over night.
  3. Probably, but I suppose that's still no proof that the item wasn't then 'returned moments later'. There was a recent case where a basschatter sold a Markbass flight case where the buyer thought it contained a cab, they returned it an hour or so later, there was a small dispute as the seller clearly advertised it as a case only, the buyer just left it on his doorstep then claimed via PayPal he never received it and was refunded. I don't think a video/photo of the bass leaving my house would do me any favours in such a return scenario.
  4. Hi all, I've heard a few stories out there about buyers paying via PayPal and then collecting the item, from what I've heard this leaves the seller open to being screwed if the buyer then claims to not have received the item. Is there any real way to safely accept a PayPal payment with the buyer collecting? I've arrange the sale of a bass and the buyer wants to pay via PayPal as they have 0% over 12 months so can essentially finance the purchase over a year. I get this, but I do feel a little trepidation about accepting PayPal when it leaves me in a fairly weak position if the buyer turns out to be unscrupulous. The chap seems absolutely fine, but I have been caught out once before many years ago with someone that really seemed a true gent then it turned out he sold me a stolen guitar. (Fortunately the guitar ended up back where is was stolen from and no one was out of pocket). So, is there a safe way to accept payment in this fashion without the risk of being up the creek? Signed receipts or something? Ta.
  5. I would have killed for one of these a few years back! Absolutely love these.
  6. So utterly pointless!! I reckon I could put down a fretted and pick up a fretless in the same time it would take rotate that monstrosity.
  7. These are just cheap Chinese knock offs. Probably worth swerving.
  8. Janez bought a Yamaha TRB6P from me, payment was made swiftly and without any problems at all! Good communication throughout, overall I would absolutely recommend Janez as a trusted member of the Basschat community. I'd be more than happy to deal with him again! Russ.
  9. Bought me a PRS Custom 22 last week. Fantabulous geeeetars. Kills a Les Paul dead in my humble opinion.
  10. @MiltyG565, seems like all your photos on all your ads are this downloadable links... personally I swerve these, others will likely do the same. You'll have a much greater chance of a sale if you can post the pictures to the thread for us to see without downloading!
  11. Hi Paul, I believe you have just been pipped to the post... I'll mark it as gone. Russ.
  12. I'd counter that and say if it's the same price then buy it on Reverb as you'll have an extra layer of protection if anything goes sour, especiallyif that shop if abroad. Also, large businesses will have lesser rates than the private seller. Just my humble opinion!
  13. I've sold on Reverb and didn't face a set up fee... From memory the fee was 3.5% of the sold value of the item, plus PayPal usual 4% cut, so 7.5% total. Bear in mind that eBay (on a non £1 selling fee day) charge 10% plus 4% to PayPal so that's 14%. Makes Reverb 6.5% cheaper! The downside is that it can take time to sell on Reverb, it's like having you're own virtual shop, whereas eBay is an auction and you can choose to run your item for 3, 5, 7 or 10 days. Also, those who complain about fees should look at what a live auction charges! Often a 15% or more sellers fee as well as a 20% buyers premium. So I'm not one to complain about paying fees for a service I'm chasing to using!
  14. it looks like a power amp to me!!! Your ad says pre amp, this is what I mean.
  15. Anyone want this? Never going to use it, been in the shed for years! It's your basic rainbow 🌈 material strap, nowt fancy, does the job, pretty basic, but functional! Perfectly good condition and perfectly useable! Free to Anyone who wants it, happy to post for free to so long as you pass on a minor good deed to someone at some point! Russ.
  16. Excellent bass Harry. Would love to own this... as per the standard situation of most, funds don't permit the purchase. But this is a real killer.
  17. Is this not a power amp as opposed to a pre amp as you've mentioned?
  18. At best I think you could get it to 16.5 looking at the neck, but to be honest I have a 16mm Tanglewood Baron 6 prototype at 16mm and it's fantastic to play. An hour or twos worth of play and it feels quite natural. If I was a 5 man, I'd have this off you.
  19. £200 is a steal. These are quite underrated basses...
  20. It is in fact Cubase AI 10.5 that I now have. What an absolute pain in the bum 'ole to install! 3 different 32 character codes later... but it's done... I'm certain I could resolve the Reaper crash issues by digging a bit, but Cubase AI came free with my Steinberg UR44 and comes with a very expansive VST with most things you could need (for now) in it, so I'm keen to at least take a proper look at Cubase and thus take advantage of their powerful internal VSTs before I go back to Reaper. Still climbing that big old learning curve at the moment! But at least all my hardware and software seem to work as they should! And I treated myself to a rather tasty PRS Custom 22 to record bítch fiddle, I mean guitar, with!
  21. I've been using Reaper for a few weeks, I'm going to make the move to Cubase LE now as I'm struggling to run everything I want in Reaper without it crashing... It's great for being free, but comes with a few issues. Let's see how Cubase does!
  22. @Tyler Owens-Peters, is that picture actually a joke? If so, bravo! If not... then... well... 🤔

    Larry_M

Larry bought a Roland Looper off of me, the deal was done and payment received 15 minutes after I posted the ad, so certainly no complaints! All round good guy to deal with! Another credit to basschat!
  24. I think @ped is aware of that, but I can also attest that the "10% Discount" for basschst users is far from 10%! My €53 payment was discounted by less that €3 a few days ago!
